We spent more than we usually do. Bought experienced players for a change and they're sacking him because they feel results aren't good enough.

They're going to either spend, or sell up. They're not going to tighten the purse strings.

Levy was just the face of ENIC at the end of the day. I thank him for what he’s done to get us to a global brand with a massive stadium and sorting the PSR. Financially he’s brilliant. Football wise we can improve.

This is my take on the matter.

The recent spendings were not his decisions. Very un-Levy. He would not have sanctioned those spendings. So im guessing that the activities were not his calls. So he was unhappy. But the higher up powers decided enough was enough after the Eze debacle, so they took control, and that probably led to turmoil, and paved the way to this decision to remove him.

I might be wrong, but definitely the recent spendings were very peculiar and very unlike Levy

Give over, United didn’t play anyone with the pedigree of Frankfurt.

We played United, Rangers, Roma and Frankfurt - 2 of those had won the Europa since 2018 and and the other 2 have been finalists in the last 4 years. 6 of the sides we faced were in CL qualifying this season with 4 qualifying for the final tournament.

Compare that to some of our FA cup runs in the past
Yeah, cause Rangers is an elite football team, that spreads fear across Europe.. and we only drew with them in another embarrassing night. The only team we played of any worth was Frankfurt in the knockout rounds

And beat the worst Man United in since PL started, yet they still out played us, and we couldn't string more than two passes together without giving the ball away...

One of my big hopes in the post-Levy era is that the constant general negativity that's become part and parcel of supporting Spurs lifts and people can stop being hateful cunts about our own players.

He was also a megalomaniacal, tyrannical control freak - far too involved in minute decision making when it came to football matters

I think judging by the comments from the club this window was probably the final nail in his coffin. Makes sense now as to why he went for kudus, mgw, eze, savinho etc. I don't think other people want to deal with him anymore and he's shown he's not capable of getting us to the next level on the field.
Yes but I don’t think him leaving is the outcome of that window - whether for signed MGW and Eze, he would have gone. This was planned well ahead of the window opening is my read.

Agree with the fact sane people don’t want to deal and that he’s incapable

Either celebrating or run out of trolling opportunities?

I am happy he has gone, but nervous as to what might happen next. If ENIC are going to more heavily invest with a view to turning us into real regular trophy contenders and winners then I would be very happy with that. Changing wage structure and things like that.

I'm apprehensive though if a sale is in the works and who it might be too. Under Levy I often daydreamed about a filthy rich billionaire who lives to win taking us over and things like that, but now the possible reality is here it really makes me nervous. I like the fact we got this far organically without cheating and crazy money, maybe I'm being stupid but the thought of our name being tainted by some murky cunt like say a Marinakis coming in worries me a bit.

Also as much as Levy annoyed me by his lack of ambition in the transfer market, he most certainly was not always bad for us. He has done some very good bits along the way.

Why would a Maranakis come in? We have a new chairman and CEO to replace Levy, that’s it. Decouple the what ifs on outright sale/ownwership, that may or not happen at some point in the future.

What we do know, is for the first time in c.50 tfr windows, we will have a different plan, approach and dealmaker to execute.ambition is one thing, bus faults are broader than that and clearly handicapped us in recent years. He’s burnt bridges and other clubs and agents don’t want to deal with him. He’s cost us good players not just on lack of money, but him personally and how he operates.

Have no fear, it can’t be worse short term. The future (sale), if it happens is another matter but a company spending 3BN aren’t going to be amateurs

Levy could have been sacked for spending too much in the transfer window.

Lewis might want someone in to tighten the belt and cut back on spending.

We might find out that Levy wasn't the bad guy after all and there are much worse chairman to him out there.

I guess we will find out.

It might be the opposite of all of that.

This stuff about Levy only finding out he was being removed this week is nonsense.

He knew he was being removed three months ago, It's why we brought Vinai on board. How do you think they would have convinced Levy to hire Vinai, without telling Levy he would be going?

"Hi Daniel, Lewis family here. We want you to hire a CEO to take on your responsibilities, erm, don't worry your job is safe. But it's just he'll be doing your job for you, erm alongside you"

I mean come on ffs. Levy was well aware. O'Keefe is saying on LWOS that Levy was told months ago. And how do you think they got Charrington onto the board without Levy knowing his time was up? Do you think Levy didn't notice him or something?

It's also why Levy did that interview with Neville. He's spent 25 years avoiding the cameras and now suddently he leaves just weeks after doing that interview.

That interview was all about him setting the narrative for his legacy. "I'll probably only be appreciated when I am gone".

Yeah, of course he only found out this week. FFS

You have no idea as to how it happened as any of us do , Vinai came in with an eye more on PR .

I’d imagine he was more nervous at Charrington coming in . His interviews didn’t show that he wasn’t planning on going anywhere

Terms such as “ with immediate affect “ suggest it was a recent decision

Levy could point to a long period between Jol and Poch in which the team had ups and downs but was often outperforming its playing budget and growing off the pitch. Since 2017-18, we've been at best inconsistent and in a tougher environment. If you take the view that ENIC (really, the Lewis's) should put their hand in their pocket more or sell up, it's no wonder they want fresh blood running the club.
