I just wouldn't sign him

He's good at football don't get me wrong he has a wand of a left foot

But that's it

He's not fast can't pass it long and he's so so one footed that everyone knows he will cut in

After a great start when he was new to the league he's been figured out imo

Just checking back in with ya...can't coach intelligence but unfortunately for him you can't coach athleticism because that's the only way he'd have it. If he would have started from the bench today he could have put in 2 not-completely-shit performances on the bounce considering all that space that was there.
Athleticism wasn't an issue last season though was it? I don't remember David Silva being the most athletic of players...

It's just confidence with him.

Last season, just like last game, space and time were afforded him. Tonight from the start he had no space and is not able to create his own.

DS was agile and significantly more technically gifted than Kulu. You should have a word with yourself for even implying the comparison with one of the greatest technicians to ever grace this league.

It's just confidence with him.
It isn't...other than to say his confidence is shot as a result of his recognition that he can't get past anyone...

Last season finished last year, he's been fucking shit since. Why the fuck does he get the leeway Kane and Son, two vastly superior players who have done so much more for Spurs, don't? Is it a ginger thing?

2 goals 6 assists = It's just the system, its not his fault, he'll come good, you're an idiot if you don't believe in him.

10 goals 5 assists = He's finished. Drop him. Can't believe managers still stick him in the team. Sell as soon as we can.

Only way I think Kulu works is if he is in the Eriksen role as the creator in a 3. Which would mean going 352 with Son and Kane up top which I would like to see.

Yet another player who has been let down by that fraud in a wig that took fifteen million a year out of the cl b,, a good coach will develop him into a better player, how old is he again?

I'd much rather go 4-1-3-2 with the correct personnel. Edson Alvarez in front of the back 4 with Teun Koopmeiners in the 10. Alvarez could drop into the back four making it a 5 when we are defending and can bring the ball out far better than any midfielder we currently have.

It's a little more nuanced than that, though. The age difference is a massive factor, once you get to the 30 mark a little wobble in form and people are looking to call you washed up. When you're as young as Kulu and showed what he did 2nd half of last year naturally people want to give the benefit of the doubt. In any event everyone in the team has underperformed bar maybe Kane this season so I think a lot of people are willing to still see him come in on a permanent and get a chance to prove himself. It's easy to forget he was arguably the best player in the league between Jan-May last season.

That's fair.

It's also fair to point out that Jesse Lingard once had a similar January loan for West Ham before going to shit (same g/a in the same period) and that sometimes players just have a wonderful run and its not indicative of them being an elite footballer.

And fair to point out that Kulu was very poor at Juventus, hence why we got a very favourable try before you buy deal. So wedged in between a flying half a season, you have a lot of rubbish either side. And it's very fair to question whether this club can afford to take a gamble on a poorly performing player.

That's all very fair as well, I'd say "very poor" at Juve is a little bit harsh perhaps, obviously some of their fans claimed we were "fleeced" by them, but a good section of them said they could see a player in there but the system they played did not accommodate him in the slightest. I think there's a strong possibility he returned before full fitness from his injury this season, which could have affected him for some time.

The Lingard comparison is an interesting one, because his career is actually a pretty good allegory for a very poorly managed player. He spent way too long at United trying to prove himself on loan and make the dream come true when he should've jumped ship to play regular football in his early 20s, angled for a move back or to another big club when he came into prime around 27-29, Zaha has come close at several points to achieving just that but obviously Palace have claws in very deep and he's probably fucked it for himself now but in a sense he will go down as a very well liked player in Palace's history, sometimes if you're just not that great, that's better than a decade on loan and in obscurity.

I like that Kulu has seized the chance to get off Juve's bench and into another first team, last year he started off on the bench and just kept giving reasons for Conte to look barking mad not to pick him. If it weren't for how white hot he was he would've rotted on the bench like Bissouma and Richy have for long stretches this year. I'm not defending that he hasn't helped the team to put in better performances this season, but at the same time as entertaining the possibility that he was a "half season wonder", I think it's equally worth considering the possibility that when an entire team is playing as poorly as this one, it's a little bit unfair to single out individuals who haven't been here all that long, are young and able to improve and grow into the team, and have shown clear ability over sustained periods in the past. I think Son comes into a lot more criticism because he is at this point a Spurs icon, he is one of the two men we always turn to to get us out of the shit, so fairly or unfairly, when he isn't performing it's all the more disappointing.

I think if we had signed him for £34m last summer no one on here would be saying "get shot", but since he's on loan the possibility is being entertained of sending him back. I would say, £34m is really not all that much in todays' football world, and if we can get back the player we saw last season, it's a fucking bargain to boot. We've gotta give a few of these newer guys a fair whack under a new manager and system, we have enough parasites who have been here for far too long to replace to get rid of people like Kulu in the space of one summer.
