Player Dejan Kulusevski

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Of course not but I am not making the claim that he is knackered. He has a bit of a labouring running style which makes him look a bit tired like Chris Waddle used to have. And in any case the finish that he conjured up on Sunday didn’t look like the finish of a tired man to me

Because I have a pair of eyes and s functioning brain

People just itching to get off spicy hot takes I guess. How anyone can watch this team this season and decide Deki is the problem is crazy to me.

Pep said it best. “Kulusevski…what a player…”

bus-conductor bus-conductor : still trying to find the facts that will fit his narrative.

This fallacy, bus-conductor bus-conductor , is called 'teleological fallacy'. You start out with a conculsion and fit the facts to suit your pre-determined conclusion.

Keep going though- don't let that shovel handle get cold.

People think that they know better than actual football managers. But that is nothing new.

And some fans are always looking for scapegoats. And I guess that Dejan does become a bit of a target since he doesn't shy away from talking the talk.

But saying that Dejan is one of the problems this season is absolutely bonkers.

What are we doing here?
The point I am making is that you are deciding Kulu is tired. I am saying that that is just an excuse.Modern day footballers have never had it so good. They have dieticians, physios and sports scientists to get them ready for matches. Back in the 80’s when I first started watching Spurs these things didn’t exist to the same extent. The players just got on with things. One of our own Paul Allen for example used to run and run in matches on heavy pitches and barely missed a game for us for 7 or 8 seasons. The schedules were crazy and I can remember Spurs playing on Boxing Day in 86 against West Ham and then Coventry on the next day. Nobody complained.

I’m not sure I agree with this. Plenty of football managers pick bad players.

Is Deki perfect? No, far from it. He plays midfield too much like a forward sometimes. Which is understandable, given he’s played as a forward player mostly.

But dinging him for giving the ball away too much this season? Nah. He’s been trying to make things happen in a team where far too many of players have been playing the safe and easy pass rather than put themselves in the firing line.

All players in teams who don’t have access to their pick of the best talent are gonna be flawed though. The trick is putting them together in away which accentuates their strengths and compensates for their weaknessses. That’s the main problem in this side for me. The blend is all wrong currently. Too many runners, not enough thinkers or destroyers.

So in that case what you're saying is no modern day footballer can complain of tiredness because they all have state of the art facilities and the best dieticians and doctors?

Unless you think athletes are robots and can play at full intensity for 90 mins every 3/4 days...in that case what's the point of having squads and having subs? Sorry your argument doesn't make any sense.

He is experienced enough so he should know that when you are 2:0 or 3:1 up, and your defence is under pressure - as a front 3 player you should focus on ball retention first. Especially when your partners (Son and Moore) are weaker physically and holding the ball with opponent on their back is in theory not their type of play.

Instead every time he received ball during that tough period, he forced plays/tried to dribble through multiple opponents and lost ball countless times. Young Moore has shown more awareness in keeping possession.

And its not only that Deki is fatigued - that was plain hero ball attitude.

Fucking awful again. Dogshit. Stupid decisions poor execution, zero fucking help when defending, not tracking, just standing around letting people cross.

The fucking pant pissing in here about clubs coming in for him is comical. Like anyone’s going to give us our money back for this fucking bumbler. Reminds me of when people were worrying about RM activating Reguilon’s buy back. Fat fucking chance.

Now that we know Djed Spence has an actual level he has exceeded wildly expectations. Best right or left back at the club. Can't wait to see him under a proper coach. Pochettino would have made him the best fullback in Europe.

Can you imagine? Bait the defending fb with an inside run from the RW and let Djed attack down the line in isolation against oppo wingers- if they're even bothering to track him? He will absolutely murder oppo in that situation. It's really criminal we haven't figured out how to make this happen yet.

I think Kulu is jaded, played too often between positions, and is coached poorly. At this point I don't blame many of our players for poor play- it's too difficult to tell if they are actually bad or just following Ange's suicide tactics.
