Ex-Spurs Player Dele

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

How is it pronounced "correctly"? Phonetically s it Wettel or Fettel? On the broadcasts they pronounce it as it's spelled.

And I 'unignored' Bazali to see what you were referring to and I see it's the "H" issue. I recently had the thought of you guys dropping your Hs yet when players call Harry by his nickname they say Haitch...but aitch has no H. So I guess it's not an issue of you dropping Hs but misplacing them? :pochlol:
He says Vet-ell, or V'tell.

Just annoys me.

I don't actually buy this there shit and have been for ages narrative.
Cool then, let's have at it.

Dele Alli's hammy are shot played too much football too young.
Occam's razor, you are reaching for an explanation. Hamstring injury doesn't not stop you from trapping a ball. This too much football, too young is nonsense conventional wisdom. No scientific basis to support it. Let's stay objective and verifiable.

Then in a team so high octane it burns out the individual.
...or they get old and thus we don't need to reach for an explanation beyond the physiological.

At this point the lack of technical ability is badly exposed.
So you admit he is a shit footballer then. So what are we talking about then? We no longer press thus his time on the field is no longer spent free or in transition and is now spent in relative increased proportion of possession or defensive shape where there are expectations on a player that he can't fulfill. No further explanation needed.

There's a shelf life in the attrition like way they play that means mass rotation or a squad rebuild after three years neither did watch what happens at Liverpool.
Agree with the broad point but not necessarily the 3 years. But we don't press anymore and dele came at 19. Players press else for longer and much later in their careers than Dele. He's just a footballer with limited tactical application.

What is Liverpools decline?

This year where they are still in the CL and lower in the PL because they lost their 3 top CB's?

I don't quite get people trying to tie Liverpools decline to Klopp's style. I think they are easily top 4 without injuries to VVD and Gomez and I am not sure how that relates to the style they play.

Firmino is the one of the front 3 that has fallen off and that doesn't really seem due to him physically taking a step back. Salah and Mane look fine to me so far this year.
There's a metrics website that went through the numbers sprints, pressing, soft tissue injuries. It was shocking how profound the drop in Liverpools stats are. I think the VVD injury played a part but it can't account for them numbers Igula. Might try and dig it out. My guess they will chuck money at the squad big time.

Haven't read the discussion, just the question.

Vettel is pronounced Fettel (or Fe-Tel if you like).

I've gone back and forth on Dele, but the truth is he's lazy in training and hadn't done anything on the pitch for a long time now. My issue with him is he was scoring a lot of goals, scored in big games but now seems content to sit on the bench and score the odd goal against minnows. His all round play has never been particularly great, but I do agree that he is hampered by his hamstring issues. He is one of the first players I'd happily sell as I feel he has the wrong attitude.

His girlfriend Rubi Mae leaved him due dele was playing to many times fortnite
On insta she posted a picture because dele is on a dating app 😂
This gux want's to play more fortnite than football

How does anyone know Dele is a Lazy trainer apart from the all or nothing documentary. The fact is Dele was not a problem before Mourinho yes a frustrating player but not a problem. Mourinho targeted him and singled him out then when Alli questioned the tactics he was frozen out. The defend and Kick it loing comment in the all or nothing documentary should tell everyone all they need to know.

I guess nobody knows for sure but I didn't hear a lot of defending of him when that comment came out, although I may have missed it over here. I imagine that if Jose said the same thing about Kane you would hear from former teammates, managers, England teammates saying how it wasn't true.

Also Dele has not developed any of his skills or rounded out the issues in his game. It could be that he had tried really hard and get do it, but that seems unlikely. You also have multiple reports about his love of gaming and how that may have impacts on his life outside of football. And watching him on the field he is often lazy as well.

None of those are sure signs that he is lazy but when you have a lot of circumstantial evidence building up I am not sure it is that hard to believe that he is lazy in training.

Anyways he may not have been a problem in his attitude but he was a problem with his play before Jose came here, so whether he is shit in training or the GOAT in training hard we should be looking to sell him as quick as possible.

That Dele’s unhappy? Fair enough. We always moan when we’re unhappy: some even when they could be happy.

Dele also flaps his arms when other people don’t read his flicks and he gives the ball away. Can’t always be someone else’s fault...

The comments after pre-season when he scored where Dier and co were saying this is the real Dele I hope he carries that on into the season. Evidence that everyone around the club knows he's been shit for ages and are hoping against hope that he can turn it around somehow.

He has struggled the last year a bit under Poch because of injuries and the world Cup never got back to full fitness and developed problems with his hamstrings. Is he sometimes a petulant child yes. I just see some people labeling him and our other players as problem players. The fact is Mourinho turned some of our players into problem players with his mishandling of them I am not giving Alli a free pass but their are outside factors that have effected him,
