His top 5 signings at Villa :

Ollie Watkins (Brentford)
Emiliano Buendia (Norwich))
Boubacar Kamara (Marseille)
Matty Cash (Notts Forest)
Emi Martinez (Woolwich)

No real failures in that sample, which is encouraging, but I think he'd need to step up a couple of rungs to get the players in suitable for Spurs.

Budgets would also be different - I'd suggest we were quite happy to spend £50m (and maybe more) for first team players, although we are also happy to bring in less developed players for smaller sums.

Spurs would also be expecting players from other european leagues (and maybe asian and latin america as well) whereas most of Lange's work at Villa has a strong PL focus.

Will the budget be much different? Villa have spent quite big since they returned to the premier league.
I think the plan will be, signings at a reasonable level, rather than top level, which as long as it's the right fit is fine.

So our basic structure is

Chairman - Levy
CFO - Munn
Technical Director - Lange
‘Consultant’ (connections guy) - Paratici
Manager - Ange
Chief Scout - ??

I think total budget will be bigger - my guess is we have spent £150m ish gross this summer and same last summer to get Maddison (£40m), Johnson (£47m), Van de Venn (£43m), Vicario (£19m), Veliz (£13m) and Phillips £2m this summer. Which I think indicates we'd be happy to spend up to £50m or even £60m for each of our players

So not top level costs but I think we have got very good quality by targeting the level below...... and it adds up..

Who is Paratici going to consult with? Levy? Munn? Lange?

The thing with the job roles and their intricacies at that level is that us supporters don't really see who does what with anything more than a very basic level of insight or understanding - from what I can gather it is Munn heading up the football side of things so presumably that means Lange reports in to him and that Paratici will consult to him also, but given that Paratici was working directly with Levy up until recently he'd likely be on the end of the phone to him also.

Lange and Paratici both suggest players, which one does he listen to?
