No idea if true (though i suspect it's nothing more than fans hearsay attributing names to comments Poch made in the past); but he certainly had a strange way of showing it.

Ditto Dier & Toby.

He went all-out to get Toby a new contract.
Yeah you could be right there. I don't think I've ever seen concrete proof of any of it. Nor do we really know as to which players downed tools for him (if they actually did - I always thought it was more burn-out than anything).

I read Munn's appointment as Levy/enic being open to the idea of either owning or having some sort of long term relationship with clubs in other countries to be some sort of htroup which allows players to move from one club to another. The reason for that is Munn has been a 'country manager' for China rather than just head of one particular club *although he was that at Melbourne City before he moved to China).

It maybe relevant, or not, that Enic 's initial strategy was part ownership of multiple clubs - so owned a % of Spurs, Glasgow Ranges, Sparta Prague, Vicenza, Basle - before selling all to focus on Spurs where by buying out Alan Sugar Enic ended up owning circa 85% or so of Spurs. So in some senses this would revert to Enic's original strategy before they realised minority ownership didn't give them enough control etc.

But I may be entirely wrong on ths

My suspicion is that concerns about Conflicts of Interest will always make ownership of several elite football clubs by one company problematic. The "feeder club" idea still loosely exists, but is often little more than preferential agreements between clubs to develop & loan young players.

My own suspicion is that ENIC is not limiting their "investments" to football, but rather exploring expanding to a range of sports where Conflicts of Interest don't exist.

Obviously, our stadium has been built as a top class NFL stadium, with changing rooms big enough for NFL "rosters". If Lewis wants to maximise his investment & then cash out, hiring senior operational managers like Munn helps prepare the ground for any new owner. Our administrative & financial structure will no longer be Daniel Levy & a couple of others ,but professionals with an established international career in sports management.

For instance if, as has been rumoured, the NFL did decide to create a new 4 team league outside mainland USA, eg 2 teams in England, 1 in Germany, 1 in Mexico, then we would be in poll position as the home of one of those new "franchises".

Billionaires are desperate to buy NFL franchises because they rarely come up for sale.

Someone like Jeff Bezos could make ENIC a huge offer for the football club & future NFL franchise. We're in London, with a state of the art stadium & training facilities, and a huge potential fanbase for both sports.

Just my tuppence worth. But if Lewis wants to cash out, having Munn & a Sporting Director like Spors in place, helps the process.

Which is to say, a marketing guy. CFG's only holding in China is a minority stake in a second division club. CFG itself does have minority shareholding from a couple of Chinese private equity firms.

It's all a bit weird really. And it's terrible public relations that none of this has been explained to us in the slightest.

Its whatever works for the ManCity group - so no reason to explain it to Spurs fans. And Mancity is only one investment of the city group now (albeit its biggest) so arguably no reason to explain what its owners are doing in the rest of the world which doesn't directly impact on Man City

But agree its a strange set up to have a 'country/marketing' manager for China when its only (publicly known) direct investment is a minority holding in a relatively small club.

I can only assume that :
(a) City Group want to help that club into China's top league
(b) there are other things going on in China which might be to do with getting other football clubs or might for example be to try to get deals done to get Chinese tv coverage of City Group clubs and/or to put on football tournaments in China
(c) Might be an evolution for City Group into investing in other forms of sports or even stadium ownership in China.
(d) Whatever else might be possible to gain 25% or so of world's population (whatever China's population as a % or world) supporting City goup's sporting interests.

Who the hell is Scott Munn and what has he been brought here to do? What is his remit at Spurs?

We have no idea! Ridiculous.

Chief Football Officer

As others have reported it Tottenham appoint Scott Munn as their new chief football officer

So at the moment, his remit is everything football at Spurs.

and Levy's quote is interesting 'Spurs chairman Levy said: 'Scott has a unique and broad experience of running sporting organisations at the highest level and will take responsibility for the leadership and management of our football activities to instil best practice both on and off the pitch.'

But anything is possible in the future - and you couldn't say today 'co-ordinating football across other clubs' as today there are no other clubs !

If weare still waiting for a DoF to start how are we going to move out the deadwood we have on loan ?. all the spade work needs to be done early so we can get money in for new players

According to the Daily Mail, another name that we are interviewing/looking at it is Lee Dykes, currently technical director at Brentford.

He was head scout for Brentford between 2019-2022, and took the role of technical director last summer.

Yeah. Ashworth was the big DOF star at Brighton. He went to Newcastle last summer. Weir got promoted to take his spot.

Not saying that Weir is bad but we can't give him all the credit for Brighton's success.
