My daughter and me had a long conversation about renewing our STs last night. When I got it, I was like the cat who got the cream, still got a buzz from it up till a few weeks ago, but something has changed.

I don't feel like this is my club anymore, I can't put my finger on why, it just all feels different. We'd had a lot of drink before and during our convo and I'll probably still renew both STs, however, it's the first first time I've really had second thoughts.

Don’t blame you I only go a few times each season, mostly just watch on the telly. Back when Redknapp was here I would do anything for a ticket, club is a boring corporate mess, an accountants idea of a football club.

The ‘’Spurs way’’ of cup wins and flair players replaced with Nuno Stone Age type Football. Club has lost its soul, attacking football was part of the reason I started to support Spurs, that and it was my closest geographical team upto 5 years old. Boring boring Tottenham Hotspur now. Will always support Spurs but it has become a chore in many ways.

I'm not a season ticket holder. I go to 3-4 games a season, so Levy only gets £300+ quid a year from me including my membership. I feel for you guys that are handing him £2k+ a year to be served the same excuses and lack of silverware for decades.

I expect I'll be cancelling my membership in a few weeks, and won't renew or go to a game again until Levy sells up or they suitably invest in the squad. I simply can't be arsed.
Come on over and I'll take you to a CU Buffaloes game on a Saturday. Just about as frustrating as Spurs.

But it sure ain't boring anymore.

Seriously, though, I brought the family over this year to go to a match. Tourist all the way, including expensive hospitality package, and shopping in the store for kits, etc. From some of the comments I've seen on here, I may be a small part of the big problem, i.e. turning the club into an entertainment venue.

Even though I live quite close to the Bristol City ground, I occasionally go to see Rovers. My heart is and always will be with Spurs, but these days watching a team battle it out in a genuine competition rather than watching multi millionaires phone it in is much more satisfying.

Know what you mean. I live about a 15 minute walk from Cardiff city stadium. Nip down there occasionally to watch a game - tickets are quite cheap.

Off to the Cardiff Millwall game on Saturday - that should be…fun!

:nawty::nawty::nawty:

Should be a decent bit of edge to the atmosphere and hopefully get to see both teams (and fans?! 😂) kick seven shades of shit out of each other.

I remember going to Vegas a few years ago, I was having a blast loving the comped drinks while you sat playing blackjack, Sitting for most of the day in a poker tournament with free drinks, and the casino restaurants were simply amazing.

But it got to like the middle of the week and just fancied an egg on toast, that American food can be a bit rich for my tastes. You know I trawled the Vegas strip for hours looking for a simple convienience store where I could buy a loaf of bread and some eggs. And I couldn't find one.
Now I've always been a bit directionally challenged and I'm sure somebody is going to point out that I missed a store somewhere. But something occured to my while I was walking around getting increasingly frustrated.
It occured to me that there was a reason that there wasn't a convienience store every 50 feet in this busy vibrant City centre. And that was reason was the same reason that some mega malls are now designed to make it intentionally difficult to find the exits.

It's simple they want you buying everything in the hotels/casinos.

It's odd, at that point a flick in me switched and I could no longer enjoy myself as I figured out that literally everything in Vegas is designed to part a sucker from his money. It stopped being a fun trip and I started feeling like a sucker, a rube, a tourist, a pawn on a production line.

I think you can all see where this ramble is going, but I came to that realisation with ENIC and Spurs a long time before.

I can say now that I'm not a very good Spurs fan these days, I've become toxic, I resent the clubs lack of ambition. I resent the fact that we've been on the cusp of something big for the last half a decade or so but we've been held back from acheiving.

And I think for me if/when I have to watch that lot up the road go from absolute rock bottom to PL winners in a season I'm pretty sure that will be me done with football.

Back many moons I would tell my friends that ENIC has a long term plan, Every time we sold a Modric, a Carrick, a Berbatov, a Bale. It was for the greater good of progress.
I even felt like the stadium would propel us to the next level. But like the Vegas trip the awful realisation clicked in me when I started to see them erecting more hotels, the whole NFL thing, the boxing, the concerts.

I realised once again we are the rubes, the mugs, the suckers. Helping to grease the wheels of ENIC.

They don't give a fuck about us or this club achieving any meaningful onfield success.

Once you see that, you can't unsee it.

I realise I'm a toxic fan now and I'm still hoping that City tonk us just so it keeps it tight so I don't have to see Woolwich lifting the EPL because I know in my heart that will be the straw that broke the camels back and my love affair (such as it is now) with this club will be finished.

Yes, but the support is conditional (for a lack of a better word).
At the moment, supporting the club means booing the shit out of Baldy and not investing any money on the club. It means empty stadium, no beer at HT. We have to take a hit in the short run, to make this club better in the long run.

Is “Egg on Toast” a slang for a stripper or lady of the night ? :tanguythumb:
