Very good video. To sum up Solanke fixes the below issues:
- central attacking pivot for the system which is vital in how Ange plays
- is a reliable goal scorer of chances created although not a player that creates chances out of thin air (eg Son)
- presses brilliantly and we play higher than almost anyone
- dominate in the air so will help out defensively as well as attack
To some degree Richarlison (when fit!!!) fixes a lot of this but does seem clear Ange’s system needs an actual centre forward.
And this is exactly the type we need. We now have a guy who asks questions of centre backs. He will hold it in and get fouls,link up and open the game up for us,he’ll run in behind,he’s aggressive and can finish.
Won't get many for us as we hardly get them and Son will be first choice if we do.
Also, I think whilst competition for Richarlson and Solanke is good I'm expecting Solanke to get the initial nod because of his fitness (availability). This too I see as good for us and also Richie because when he has played he has more or less performed well, this should take the pressure off him to play if he's not 100% fit and making his injury worse than it already is and thus being out for longer spells well into the season as a consequence. We can manage him far better (himself too) which in turn should yield even better performances.
I have no idea if he is good or not, but I wish him well with us.
Hell yeah! Loving all the anime references as well, Dom has some cool celebrations in his locker hopefully he uses 30 of them this coming season.
