To be fair there are plenty of world class players that miss control a ball , look at De Bruyne , missed an open goal from a couple of metres the other day . Happens all the time .

It seemed like everyone's legs were feeling it already by that point (and it has been a long season) so it seemed to me a bit like tired legs more than anything else.

Naturally expect our team to all be a bit crap due to a lack of confidence, as per the general form and feeling around the club in the league, but we had a couple of chances like that which were just missing a better delivery

Next season is pretty big for him isn’t it?

Needs over 15 PL goals at a minimum I think. If not then I’d probably look at moving him on. Out of today’s England squad. Replaced by Toney who’s been kicking over sand castles for a living the last year.

Unbelievably I even missed a couple of sitters in my Sunday games , didn't even have tired legs as an excuse . Shit happens .

Hard to score 15 goals a season when the team doesn't really play to your strengths , I'm happy with him , I'm sure he would want better returns as well but he didn't have a lot to work with .

I was thinking its an absolute madness leaving Solanke out for Toney.

But then I realised Henderson is in the squad ahead of Wharton and realised the squad is a joke and I'm not going to let it bother me.

Deuterz Deuterz Are you still a big Tuchel fan? Seems like some odd selections!

He looked absolutely exhausted in the second half. We can fault his touch for that Udogie pass, but we can't fault his effort.

Here lies the problem, his work ethic is fantastic but his end product (the main expectation of a striker) is severely lacking. 8 leagues goals in 26 league games is pathetic, especially for a £60m signing. 1 goal in at least the last 9 EPL matches he’s featured in.

Good post. Yep, agree. It's not talent but mentality or probably fairer, strength of mind.

He has to believe he belongs, and I think that's what separates him from that top group of today's strikers, with Kane, as far as English forwards are concerned, another level again.

Yeah I think expecting a striker to be turning up in such a huge game, with everything that's been going on before then, is a bit much considering he probably had as many shots on target as Kane did in 3 or 4 finals for us combined.

On the other hand he's scored 15 goals in all competitions.

So his goal involvements haven't dropped that much compared to last season. It is just more spread out over multiple fronts. Obviously he needs to get some more league goals next season but he's actually produced decent numbers all in all.

I dont rate him, wasnt happy when we bought him. Sorry. Not for me. We need a proper striker to replace kane.

Everyone knows who the best available strikers are....

Gyokeres, Osimhen, Boniface, Sesko, Openda, Ekitike, Vlahovic. Pick one and put some money down.

I'll come back to the point that has to be the obvious one: how many sitters does he miss? How many chances do we create for him?

He messed up the pass from Udogie which I'd have bet the house on to have scored from with a better first touch. No other criticisms on the night.

And btw goals scored have not been the issue this season. We've scored loads.

Out of today’s England squad.
I wuldnt pick now, not because he's not good enough but he needs the Summer to recover. He'd be half dead on the pitch, like Kane was a lot of the time during Summers. I really think Tuchels thinking is along those lines.

Solanke has 8 goals in 26 league games. I'm not surprised he's being left out for England. He's a fan favourite for us because grafting and passion during a cup win is enough. I like him, I rate him but in terms of forcing his way in to England he probably needs to score more.

I don't agree with his replacement being Toney.
