Player Dominic Solanke

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

You see, that's such nonsense.

Many on here were more than pleased we bought the bloke. The majority.

I don't rate him that highly but mostly because of his mentality.

He is decent but like all our players he looks worse at present and offers us too little.

It's just so boring to blame Levy for every poor signing.

What about Son, Alli, Eriksen, Dembele, etc......

Solanke has been average for us and right now when we need performances he isn't delivering. That's it.
He's fucking dreadful. That is all.

Think he’s a decent enough striker. Always been supportive cos, well he puts on shirt on.

But today he was anonymous till 10 minutes out when he all of a sudden wakes up. Fucking pissed me off big time. Get brave when the games lost having hid for most of the game.

Like Richarlison, Johnson and Gallagher this looked an awful acquistion at the time and has proven so.

Overpaying for middling PL tat has slowly but surely dragged the quality of this squad to the gutter. The prem proven element is such shite unless you are buying the very best available (see: Semenyo, Guehi, Rice).
For the 210m+ spunked on those 4 we could have brought in 5 or 6 non-PL players with much higher technical floors.
So true. The ones we buy are never going to be anything more than 7/10 player. We just stockpile them.

I wasn't and I wasn't on the forum back then either... The guy had one good season at Bournemouth and that was it...

He just ain't good enough and levy spent £120+ million on two bang average shyte forwards.

And not even given our promising youngsters a chance... Didn't give Veliz a chance.

I didn't want Solanke. That's on record but I think he is okay, just not as good as a few others believe. I think his mentality is his weakest element.

Ultimately the issue is a collective one and it's not on one or two players but the whole group, principally the managers.

A lot is going to have to happen whether we stay up or get relegated. A lot.

At the time we got him, I was talking to my mate, and said it was shyte signing, as we didn't need a striker, our biggest problem was creating really good chances for our players.

We are abysmal at creating chances, still are to be honest.

A bit like most of our big signings, we clearly overpaid. He's just a mid-table striker who had a hot season.

He's not shit - he's had good games for us and is a competent enough player. But he's inconsistent and lacking in that real top-level quality. If we played a system like Bournemouth's that got the absolute best out of him, maybe he's worth the money, but he's clearly a guy that needs the system to suit him to flourish at all.

We've done this a lot over the years - paying premium for "proven PL quality" but choosing the wrong guys. Solanke, Richarlison, Kudus, Johnson, Gallagher, Sissoko...that's pushing 300m quid and averaging almost 50m per player.

They're all mid-table guys. And when we've gone big abroad for players like Lo Celso, Ndombele and Xavi we've also managed to get it wrong.

This is the main reason we're in this mess. Poor squad building and financial mismanagement. The squad has been poorly assembled and we've spent way too much money on average players for a squad that doesn't make sense.

I agree with your post, but I do think Xavi will come good, he's just lumbered with shit managers, and personally would love him to get a chance with a good manager and football club around him.

The poor sod is surrounded by shyte.

And when he has played, he has hand plenty of good games, young, and has time to develop,

Yeah fair - jury's still out on him unlike all the others I listed. Think there's defo a chance he comes good.
