Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Kind of feel like they simply act as directed by the club, not like they find out on tribalfootball that we've signed a deal with Dulux and decide whether they feel like releasing a tweet about it.

I do wonder though on a semi related topic, at what point did it become necessary for football clubs to have official paint suppliers? And how many Spurs fans are going to rush out and buy Dulux now that wouldn't before? More than the number or Woolwich, Chelsea and West Ham fans that will now deliberately not by Dulux because of their association with us?
I doubt it's Levy or Mourinho.
They almost certainly outsource the Social Media to a third party who have certain criteria but generally carte blanche.

The Social media team are always at it.
After shocking matches they'd post the "highlights" or ask "who was your man of the match"

ALL they care about is likes and comments. If they got 500k angry faces and thousands of negative comments, they wouldn't care in the slightest.
The current climate is like and shares = success. It's why facebook is infested with fake posts to attract as many of those as possible. It's why people are willing to do more and more dumb shit and make themselevs look awful. It doesn't matter what the reaction, only that there IS a reaction.

It's also why FB and Twitter will allow outright racism, sexism and all the other isms, by faceless people,
They are contractually bound to deliver them because many of them, like MOTM are sponsored, it's why they pay us the money!!

Again, it's not their fault we are shit. That's down to the manager.

From who?

I am aware of a deal we closed with HSBC that ultimately got kyboshed by the big cheese's who preferred the demographic to Rugby than football (but they are still signed up as a partner).

And why diminish the role the commercial team are doing to bring in more deals than any other club right now (I think that's true). They all add up and aren't insignificant sums of money, and an increase of £26m over the previous year (to £162m). I think that's a significant sum of money.
You think, that in the 2 years since the stadium opened and the 457 millionm years it took from concpeption, that the only deal ever discussed was HSBC?
I bet they have had dozens of big corporations at the table offering money for their name on the stadium.
He would absolutely have turned every last one of them away unless they offered him more than anyone else in Europe. The bragging rights of "the biggest ever deal" would have had him in a permanent state of arrousal for years.
And then covid happened and he's fucked.

Even so, the club would give them the information to release, they don't choose when or whether to tweet out the huge Dulux news.
Thing is, they could carry on doing exactly what they're doing and no one would bat an eyelid IF we also added some actual comments from the coach, the players, the chairman when things aren't good. Jus something to humanise the squad. But there's nothing.

So you've gone from "There is absolutely no doubt he's turned down good money because he wanted more" to "I think" and "I bet". I was expecting you to list who these companies you were in absolutely no doubt over.

Our social media is 100% run in house.

We have more or less our own production department I would gather. With video editors, social media and communications specialists, photographers etc.

'There is no such thing as bad publicity' is the notion that all mentions in the media aid a person's cause, even if they put them in a bad light.

Who really gives a feck about our "new paint sponsor" it was a massive non-event. Dulux have turned that pretty meaningless bit of advertising spend into a click-bait media frenzy ... well played Dulux.

As for us, the reality is that until we do actually win something we've just got to suck it up ... let's hope it's a very, very short wait.

And whichever social media admin at Dulux that posted those jokes is with 90% certainty no longer working with those duties at Dulux, if for them at all any more.

In majority of cases where something like this happens the person that did it is "at best" forced to sign a agreement to never be allowed in a publishing position for the company if they wish to remain employed. If not outright fired.

So you think no one has offered us good money for the last 2 to 3 years?
No one.
Not one single entity hasn't made an offer.
You believe that?

Sorry mate but that's incredibly naive. We're a national laughing stock, and the fact one of our official partners has piled on with the gags will have increased Dulux's exposure tenfold.

If we were to 'get rid' of Dulux now in retaliation they'd immediately sign a sponsorship agreement with another 'better' team and the endless gags would continue. We're in a lose-lose situation here.

Personally I blame that pleb Mourinho

No-one's getting fired, trust me. Apologies if this sounds a bit 'deep state conspiracy' but this was likely an intentional attack planned at a high level. Whilst the official line may pin the blame on a 'Woolwich supporting temp worker' the firm have handily walked away from a quickly-forgotten stadium tie-in with unrivalled exposure.

Firms such as Paddy Power have made a fortune off this 'footie banter' type approach to Social Media and Dulux have noted how effective it can be. Whilst it's surprising to see them attempt it in an official capacity, this brazen approach will likely adds to its success.

Bottom Line is we're one of the world's top 'banter clubs' so no-one minds having a dig at us.

Apologies for the rant, I'm just sick of the media attacks morning, noon and night. The 21/22 season will need to be incredible to account for the last 2 years of misery...

Classic case of no such thing as bad publicity?
Yeah, that makes sense,to be fair.

I'm not trying to claim otherwise, but regardless of who runs the bloody thing though, it's not their fault that the team happen to be dogshite at the same time as Levy signing us up for a job lot of brilliant white...

No we aren't, most of the nation will have no idea that this has happened, amusement will be restricted largely specifically to Spurs fans picking up on it on sites like this and the kind of virgins who like reading lad bible and watching YouTube videos of other people watching football.

And their laughter at us will last about 5 minutes until they are distracted by some twat doing a funny dance on Tik Tok.

Personally, I'll get over it.
