Ex-Spurs Player Emerson Royal

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I have definitely given him a lot of criticism, but if you look at where he was when Conte took over and where he is now, he has improved quite a lot. Still falls short of what we need (Perisic is the standard), but he is a good squad player now. Hopefully Spence can develop into that top level player, doesn't seem like it will be this season though.

Happy to keep him round. Seems a good lad and gives his all but you aren't winning any pots with him as your main RWB.

Depends how well Spence does but we may still need an upgrade there. Would rather have 1 top drawer option than 4 middling ones.

Anyone listen to the view from the Lane podcast with Danny Kelly? Has a Brazilian journo on the latest episode who explained how hard he worked this summer….. also has four employees who work and live with him; his own nutritionist, data analyst, fitness coach and I think the final one was a life coach. Dedication

Yeah, he trained that hard in the off season he just breezed through Conte's pre-season. Probably explains why Conte likes him so much.

Imagine if Dele had that mindset.

Thinking about it, it’s probably not even one month’s wages to pay for those advisors. Investment in himself. He’ll do well.

He might still not meet the mark but at least he knows he will have given everything

I think that’s harsh on Dele personally…. I don’t see him as an unprofessional fat pisshead like Rooney.

don't know how much it would cost a player to get all these coaches, but once you get into the EPL surely you want to give it the best you can ?
once footballs over yes you will never have to work again, but to have the regret of never getting to very top when you know you could/should have
Dele remember what Jose siad to you " yesterday I was 26 today I'm 56 it goes so fast"

He's busting a gut to learn English. Gets on with everyone and he's very good defensively. I really wish he could sort the offensive side of his game out.
You can be 100% sure he is/will be putting everything into maximising his offensive potential. Think cut backs will be where he develops strongly, as defensively he has really tight, short, interplay.

Loving him this season, said when he signed, the teeth and smile really shows a lot (strong upbringing, usually spirit).

Agree. His teeth are on a par with Cafu, I see vast potential

I'm not going by statistics when I make this comment, but what I saw and felt on the day. My seat is pitch side, so I am more aware of players as they run up and down right in front of me. My feeling was that Emerson was our best player in the first half (not that's saying much, as we were pretty awful) and Ivan didn't do that much (which sparked my fear that he wouldn't be able to cope with 90 minutes of PL play). Second half, he put those doubts to bed, he was a machine and his play was first class.
I'll admit that I have a soft spot for Emerson, and he's not the best player out there, but he's not as bad as some people make him out to be, either.
He is a trier Mrs P a trier.

Were I in the PL or any similar elite mega cash sport:

Live-in chef: £50k
Personal trainer: £40k (part-time: as supplement to what club has you do)
Masseuse: £30k
Data analyst: £30k
Language teacher: £20k
Barber: £1.5k

Only the chef would need to be live in, the others visit 1-2 times a week or whenever.

Total: £171,500

Requiring pre-tax earnings of £285k or so.

So 1-4 weeks pay for the average footballer. Bearing in mind you have next to zero other outgoings besides buying cars and holidays, once you have a house.

Kyle Walker disagrees.

1k a week on escorts minimum.
