I was told the world class coach (better than those other washed up international managers) would be the final piece in the jigsaw.

It’s coming home!

Two utterly miserable performances.

I hope Tuchel absolutely laid into them at FT. Appalling. End of season or not, you show up for international games at home.

I turned off after 55 as I saw it was going to be another pointless watch. Granted, not a full strength team etc etc but the other countries are producing stunning footballers at a faster pace than us and would the top 3/4 nations still be picking Henderson and Walker. There is only one correct answer

Genuinely Chalobah? Henderson. LOL. Tuchel is a weird bloke whose going to do weird things..what the 'wokegate' mob don't want to hear is that social worker Southgate is the second most successful coach the countries ever had. His achievements were utterly derided but he did do something remarkable...he fixed the culture around the team. He built a group who had core ideals that sublimated the egos (albeit one's utterly at odds with majority of its fans) to employ Tuchel was to tear up this blueprint in the most direct way imaginable. It's a crazy Daniel Levy like handbrake turn. They needed a continuity candidate. I just can't see this working.

I watch England games with a United fan, we both agreed that it was better (or certainly no worse) with Southgate.

I can't point to any positive difference whatsoever.

My god, Chalobah, he was dreadful.

It’s a couple of matches the players blatantly weren’t up for, at the end of a very long season and a very half cooked squad. It wasn’t good but it also isn’t indicative of anything. But you know this, let’s be honest.. you just want to go on the wind up.

I see the Real Madrid of international football once again fell short by the way. Must have missed the Real Madrid specialism of reaching semi finals.

Real got knocked out in the quarters this year. We did a bit too well coming third from League A.

Should have been in League B instead finishing level with Greece.

Yes mate, and it was a terrible season for them. Madrid’s whole deal is they erm .. win stuff, like all the time.

Yeah the England digs don’t really work because I don’t think we’re the Real Madrid of international football. Spain are better than you, both recently and currently, and I wouldn’t even consider them to be that .

We didn’t finish level with Greece, we finished ahead of them and lost one whole game. That’s how goal difference works mate. Hope this helps.

We aren’t all that at the moment - the squad is on a bit of decline and some of the talent has dried up. I’m not gonna start throwing shade at Tuchel three games in to his tenure, or shit myself over an international friendly.

Didn’t even register with me that the game was on. Feel sorry for the fans who went but what a stupid, pointless game. Players need a break. A proper break. Season is long and next year is a tournament we need to be ready for. Utterly stupid to play a friendly in mid June. No surprise at all it was poor.

I defended Southgate time and time again and got pelters.

Let's see what Tuchel does but I'm not confident at all.

I just don't get everyones praise of Saka? The bloke is bloody useless. Have any of those so called pundits who sing his praise actually ever watched him play? His only attribute is to cut back on his left and swerve in a cross or shot. Yes this works well on occasion but he is a one trick pony. The rest of his game; tackling back, interplay beating a defender one-on-one is pathetic. Last night was a case in point. He tried to take on his defender to actually cross with his right and the defender took it off him with ease. Didn't try it again. Lost his bottle.
Has anyone noticed the modern game at the top level is becoming all about the wingers. Think of the top teams now: PSG: Doué, Barcola, Kvaratskhelia. Barcelona: Jamal, Fate, Raphinha. Real Madrid: Vinicius, Rodrygo. Liverpool: Sarah, Diaz. Spain: Williams, Yamal. Portugal: Leao, ...I could go on. Well if England are relying on Saka and Gordon you can forget any chance of World Cup glory. I know, I know Saka is a gooner so I/we are predisposed to hate him but come on. Watch him at the top level. There must be someone better? Rant Over.
