This is why I wanted you to break down what you mean 'football operations' are, you said it's about working on naming rights and infrastructure., just ask yourself this question, do you really think that someone who is working on those things cannot work abroad? Do you not think he can use a phone or jump on a meeting if needs be? What's the image you want to see, do you want to see him on his mobile? do you want to see him wearing a hard hat? I don't understand what would satisfy your remit of working on what you just mentioned?
Football operations has never been about being on a training pitch btw otherwise the phrase stepping back from football ops wouldn't make sense as it would suggest that he's always on the training pitch, it has always been about getting himself involved in day to day running of the football side i.e the operations which is literally the thing you've just suggested that he works on.
I don't know about you but using a still, totally out of context picture then forming an opinion about how he conducts his business is pretty nuts to me.
No, I said non footballing operations could be considered working on naming rights and infrastructure, NOT footballing operations, I don't want him involved with anything related to the performance of the football team, the experts should be handling that.
Of course he could use his phone and jump on a meeting and do that from anywhere, that much is obvious but you cannot tell me for one second him being involved on a training pitch and travelling for what many would consider a footballing operation would not be a distraction to non footballing operations?
This is after all the reason we had a DOF before, so Levy had more time to deal with other aspects of the club, was it not? So he wouldn't have to be completely involved in transfers etc, otherwise a DOF is pretty pointless imo.
Levy may not always be on the training pitch but as evidenced by many at the club and himself, he is at the training ground, he has an office that he works from there and he is ever present, he himself admitted that he likes to be involved in all the details regarding footballing matters on the Amazon documentary and this is the thing that many were expecting him to take a step away from.
Basically to make sure things are running smoothly in the background and to delegate football responsibilities to the people who know about football.
Him being on a training pitch with the playing staff or travelling for preseason footballing operations doesn't give the impression he is distancing himself from that.
He may be there for other purposes unrelated to footballing matters and that's fine, he may be there for any number of reasons but I don't understand why that would involve him being on the training pitch.
You're right in the sense that the still picture may literally just be him passing through and wishing the players good luck etc (doubtful as he is in training gear ffs lol) you can't read much from a still picture but would that be reason enough to travel all the way there with the team and show up at training? I just doesn't add up to me.
