The club is paying the price for some awful transfer decisions.

Ndombelly (62m left for free)
Lo Celso (48m left for 5m)
Sessegnon (27m left for free)
Sachez (42m. Sold for 9m)
Reggie (30m, will leave for free in summer)

Add to that Dier, Holjberg, Lloris, Moura, Dele being allowed to leave for zero fee.

Whomever oversaw transfer activity in this period set the club back years, and have hamstrung our ability to compete in the transfer market.

Clearly, the club has made a significant investment to dig themselves out of this hole - Johnson, Porro, Kulu, Grey, Richarlison, Solanke, Madisson, Odobert all costing significant money.

It is of course very clear that expectations of summer spending will need to be tempered; and we would need to probably break even on net spend. Clearly money can be raised from Romero, Richarlion, Gil, Bissouma and Bentencaur to bring in enforcements.

Even if we qualify for the Champions League, I wouldn't expect we would have any ability for a positive net spend.

SJ nailed it with his last lines

The game has changed. Levy maybe built the club into a space ship that’s sustainable but doing huge revenue but it’s still not enough to get it done. The other players in the game are still bigger and prepared to take losses

The moral high ground doesn’t do shit for anyone. Time to sell to someone who can win because Levy and ENIC can’t and won’t

Every club is paying the price of bad transfers. They just don’t use them as an excuse.

Transfers are never 100% successful. Don’t mean you can use the unsuccessful ones as the reason you can’t try and nail the next transfer

I think we'll be ok. There are routes available to turn over and strengthen the squad without spending too much. No doubt a huge amount of transfer funds were totally lost between Levy's poor handling of the end of the Poch era, and the 3-4 crap seasons that have followed since then. I like to think he is still beating himself up not selling Dier for 55m, and Dele to RM for 100m. Hopefully he will have learned from that.

If you want to comply with the rules; you can't just write off bad transfers and go and spend spend spend. We've had to write off close to 300m in player assets - along with spending half a billion on incoming players since Ange arrived. Even with the Kane sale, we have only recouped 170m.

We didn't just have some unsuccessful transfers, they were disastrous. Over the time he was here, Ndombele cost the club more than we got from the sale of Kane.

The good news (yes, there is some), is that the majority of the dead wood is now gone, and we have an excellent core of young players that could serve the club for the next 5-10 years.

Guessing you enjoy being verbally abused

Sitting here this Morning, trying to justify dropping over a grand on another Season Ticket renewal.. This Chairman of ours comes out with that statement.. Doesn't exactly have me running for the Credit Card.

How can he be so disconnected from the match going fans. Even someone I know locally who also attends games as a ST holder, who has always seen the brighter side of things and not got involved with ENIC/Ange out etc debates, announced on Monday night, that he now thinks Levy and ENIC need to sell up.. They have even got to their own fan boys.. That takes some doing Levy, well done....

Who gives a fuck about complying with the rules?

Not one of the teams that regularly win have been held back by previous unsuccessful transfers. They just go again.

For me it is the "it is what it is" energy from the statement that kills me.

If Levy feels that we cannot spend more than we are then okay, I can grudgingly buy that to an extent. But there's nothing in the statement about buying smarter and improving on our recruitment and scouting. Because we still have the option of spending the good chunk of money that we do invest in the team better than we are. Instead its just accepting of mediocrity.

Doing more with less is 100% harder, but it is doable.

And other “ smaller teams” are surpassing us by a more professional approach to football , be that targeting players to fit a system , having and sticking to a plan instead of flip flopping & getting the correct staff with the right mentality

We can do that with all none footballing ventures & yet the reason they exist is very half arsed

And if any of those young players flourish and reach their full potential they'll start angling for a move to a more ambitious club as their only route to success because Levy will refuse to invest in a winning team around them.

25 years of evidence backs this up. Highest paid football director in Europe building a business empire off the back of your football club

The literal definition of parasites.

Supporting them is Supporting failure. Loved by Gooners and Chavs for a reason.

Levy was a unique type of chairman when he was low balling West Ham and Leeds United for good players that were of no interest to the then big 4 of Chelsea, Woolwich, Man United and Liverpool.

Being the best of the rest on a budget was Levy's niche from 05 - 19.

Having Kane come through our ranks has also played a major role in Levy's survival to this point.

ENIC and Levy are now finished. Plenty of others are doing what ENIC used to do more efficiently and effectively.

Levy's salary & bonus payments should be juxtaposed with his rivals at Brighton, Bournemouth, Villa, Newcastle, Fulham, Brentford and Forest for clarification.

His major decisions are increasingly poor.

Levy has failed to hire a consistently achieving manager since 2014.

Ange will be the 5th, consecutive, full time manager he has been forced to sack since 2019.

2003 Levy would sack 2025 Levy.

Spot on. Now the very people who have surpassed him (eg. oil money, private equity) and have work out how to run clubs effectively (Man City with their ways apart) close to the blurred lines of the rules are actually the only people who will save us fans.

His (and our) problem is they are too savvy to pay the over market value price for the club or any investment (note no comment of external investment, but mention of hotel development being financed separate to the club in his statement) because there are 20 PL clubs, all of which are attractive at different investment levels and I suspect 3/4rs are available at more reasonable prices.

We fans are properly fucked. But I’ve been pointing this out for nearly 3 years.

The thing is, is the football team just another revenue stream the stadium produces for ENIC and does that statement back it up?

Is the football is just seen as another way to make money alongside the concerts, NFL and other sports for ENIC.

Levy knows he can’t bullshit anymore , but he is not embarrassed clearly . Instead he is saying if you don’t like it tough , you can fuck off . That is how I am reading it, but then anything he says will be interpreted negatively by me .

Levy's message is clear... stop moaning and get behind the team, and by the way... unless we win the Europa don't expect too much change in the summer and prepare yourself for another shite season next season...

He's not even bothered trying to hide it anymore.

I have nothing but hatred and contempt for this bald lizard fuck.
