Even though he’ll still be made a billionaire by the sale, I would just love it if the power was taken out of Levy’s hands and he was made to feel as helpless as we are have over the years at his ineptitude at football matters. It would be a little pyrrhic victory.

If Charrington is on the board acting on behalf of Joe Lewis and the trust that is probably is already the case.

Just playing devils advocate here, but does Levy get no credit for backing Ange all season even though we were complete wank? I think it's fair to say most other teams with CL aspirations would have fired him during the season. Does he get no credit for winning a trophy or are we not allowed to say that?

Everyone deserves some amount of credit for the trophy, including Levy. That said, I think he gets more credit for sacking Ange when the vibes at the moment would dictate a different decision.

And is the “backing” Ange just not firing him earlier, or do you think he was properly supported?

I think everyone is reading far too much into this takeover idea. I have no doubt that there have been interested parties, but if anyone thinks that potential takeover groups/people are already calling the shots, we’ll, it just doesn’t work that way.

I think he does. To be honest there were few alternatives, it was give it to Ryan Mason but in the past he would have done that.

I disliked Jose but sacking him a week before a final was crazy, if he wanted to save the league that season he should have sacked Jose months before not just before a final which Jose is normal quite good at. The sacking of Redknapp for a falling out, Jol at half time, Poch after not backing him are a stain on him and ENIC but he might have got this one right.

Keeping Ange, get the cup then move onto a new guy who is a better long term fit. I have no idea if that was Levy or Lange making the call but either way it’s probably going to end up the right call. Obviously if we lost against United then it wouldn’t have matter but it worked in the end.

You're allowed to say it but some people will take offence for even suggesting it.

Yeh I doubt it. I do think though things have changed a lot since Charrington has been brought in, he is acting on behalf of the majority owner and is only sent to places when Lewis wants to shake things up. That is most likely where changes is being driven from.

Possibly, I think it’s also entirely likely that Levy looked at this last season and decided that it was totally unacceptable, aside from EL, and figured that it needed a shake up. Aside from Cullen, haven’t all the changes been essentially coaching staff that have underperformed?

If Munn goes, like is rumored, it would just be a continuation of the culling of people tied to poor football performance.

You all can count QSI-related gossip off now. The head of QSI (Nasser Al-Khelaifi) was on Qatari TV channel showing off the UCL cup. The audience were asking him many questions, one suggested to him to now move to the bigger stage of EPL and mentioned investing in Everton or Tottenham. He basically shut the door on this and said they are focusing on PSG and thier other investments, saying: "To close the door of discussion on the guy who mentioned Tottenham". Interestingly, he did not mention Everton, although the guy who brought it was insisting that Everton is the better choice. Maybe he had all the gossip and romours the last couple of years about Tottenham and he wanted to close that door.

It's in Arabic of course, the topic is mnetioned at 1:10 and then Al-Khelaifi closes the argument at 7:12 (Youtube subtitles translation is bad unfortunately)

Yeah - not gonna happen quickly. Levy struggles to sell a £10M player quickly so the due diligence and infinite and ever changing negotiations could take 2 years tbh
I would expect a club sale to take time. Even a part sale for that matter. The Newcastle sale took just under two years to complete if my memory is correct. Everton was up for sale for years as well.

Chelsea obviously stand out but there were also some very extreme circumstances around it all.

Staveley has been around Spurs since last June-July so if we are sold at some point over the next season that would indicate about a years worth of negotiations.

For those that cant speak Arabic, Al Khelafi said he would like to have bought Tottenham but the owner is a penfold looking bald prick.

My wife asks is it Le-vy or Lev-y in how your pronounce it?

Then made the terrible joke ‘when is he going to le-vy the club’.

I always say 'Levvy' the same way that the term 'to impose a charge' is pronounced.

I've heard a lot of pundits say that too, and also heard a lot of people close to the club say 'Lee-vee'.

I can't remember how they said it on All or Nothing, but would assume that to be a good source for the correct one
