Why wouldn't you put this out a few days after making a new signing? Coming after resigning Tel (who most people assumed was coming back) is kind of underwhelming. Fans are waiting to see an Eze or Mbeumo come through the door and you get this discussion instead. Don't get me wrong, it was a good enough piece, but the communications people at Spurs must be a bit tone deaf to release it when they did.
 
I didn’t hear it all, but White & Jordan plus Danny Murphy were talking about this interview on Talksport this morning. Nothing significant in the bit I heard but Jordan wasn’t as overtly supportive of Levy as he usually is. Paraphrasing — but he did say that having qualified for CL, Levy was likely to spend more than he would have if we didn’t, but there was no way Levy was going to change the model and spend like Liverpool, Man U, City etc and no Spurs fan should think he will. He will not change his approach whatsoever, he simply won’t do it. It would only change if he sold up. So he can say he wants to win the PL and CL but not at all costs so Spurs fans should not expect anything else.

So, nothing there we didn’t really already know.

He also mentioned he keeps getting asked when his interview with Levy was going to be broadcast. All he said was it would be and it would be soon. Mmmm…..I have my doubts about this. The interview took place before Xmas and I recall Jordan saying it was for broadcast on radio early January. Then he said it was moved to early spring as it was going to be televised on C4. Now he’s simply saying soon. Maybe Levy had editing rights and only the rolling credits are left. Alternatively, they’ve both agreed to remake it, as what Levy was saying before Xmas simply doesn’t work now. Who knows? Or maybe who cares?

I think if that were a new chairman and his sidekick you'd be pretty excited hearing it. Talk of wanting to win the prem and CL and the way we can go up a level. But it was less than 2 months ago he produced that sniffy, antagonistic statement about how much we spend. I think he's lost the benefit of the doubt over the last 8 or 9 years. I really hope he has had some sort of epiphany with the trophy/parade/17th place finish or Vinnai is a genius with insane powers of persuasion but come September 1st i suspect it will prove to be another false dawn. Hope i'm wrong.
