Tell me about it - I've tried to draw a line under this about 10 times now, I've made the effort to find plenty of common ground with this guy (he has done me no such courtesy on his side), I've said we can both have a different opinion and that's fine, I'm not sure what else he wants from me. I do hope it's not just another poster who will never agree to disagree and intends to just keep 'discussing' until you retract everything you have said and agreed that he is 100% correct about everything (which is obviously not going to happen). There are already far too many of them on here. :(
You could just stop replying.

You could just stop replying.
I always feel that to be rude, especially if someone is making the effort to reply with something new each time, surely that means they want and expect a reply? I'm always happy to close out by conceding all the things someone else has said during the discussion that I agree with, I definitely don't have this need to be 'right' that so many on here seem to have, I'm always happy to agree to disagree etc - but I can't just not reply to a development of the conversation, it's rude. Of course if the other guy says he thinks there's no point in discussing further or something like that, then that's different - I have no need whatsoever to 'have the last word'. :)

I think you've got a bee in your bonnet over pretty much nothing, instead of complaining you could do something proactive about it and put him on ignore. I quite like some of JTs posts, I don't think the forum would be as much fun without him. If you succeed having him not post at all, you'd be making the forum worse for me.
Thanks mate. Appreciate the support.

I'm not one to usually blow my own trumpet, but a positive reaction score of nearly 68,000 (compared to his 5,000) 😂 suggests there's quite a few other posters who value my contribution too.

This dude on his high trying to dictate which posters are worthy of this forum is a new low in my book. Not sure I've ever seen anything like this.

Nobody moaned about wage/revenue ratio back in 2017 as Deloitte didn't show the figures in their table.
Mate, people complained about us not spending commensurate with our revenue ALL THE GODDAMN TIME back then.

We were coming off of a period with a positive five-year net spend at that point. Money had been taken out of the team on net (again, dead last in league tables IIRC) and Poch was working miracles with the remainder.

Simmering pressure to back Poch and give him some money to spend commensurate with what he was accomplishing was rolling into a boil at that point.

I was here, you weren't. I was much, MUCH less anti-Levy back then though, personally.

Jesus. Just spent 10 minutes catching up with this thread.

This ScarletJim fella, who I can't even remember interacting with, seems utterly obsessed with me. Unhealthily so.

He's stuck in a juxtaposition, he dislikes your posting behaviour, and he refuses to use the ignore feature. In other words he wants you to change to suit him, so you better admit your faults and change your ways, otherwise he'll never be able to fully enjoy his TFC experience, and it'll be your fault. And by him not having you on ignore he can enjoy watching your submission.

We'll see what comes of this. The richest stadium naming rights deal is Atletico Madrid's (with Riyadh Air, perhaps they want their name in London too?) which was 9 years, up to 300M euro.

That's a bit less than top shirt sponsorship deals are typically worth. But then of course our shirt sponsorship is available from Summer 2027. And Atletico Madrid also signed with Riyadh Air for their shirt sponsorship.

Woolwich are said to get 50-60M per year from Emirates Air, I believe combining the shirt and stadium sponsorship.

And this all leaves aside the question of selling equity in the team.

This can get very creative if Levy and some rich benefactor want it to.

Sami Mokbel thinks that the funds are coming from ENIC itself. Because they weren't happy with how things went last season.

Lewis has finally gone senile and Levy is running one of those phone scams that target the elderly.

Airfixx Airfixx .... Likely a Saudi naming rights partnership!

Exciting times, yeah?

I quite like it having no real name. Why bother fixing something that’s been broken for so long…?

EDIT: obviously, we will continue to call it ‘the Lane’.
The reason it was given an awkward, obviously placeholder name that no one uses colloquially was to preserve the value of naming rights.

If people had gotten into the habit of calling it "White Hart Lane" or something else catchy, that would have been used even when a corporate sponsorship was signed, and what the corporate sponsor is paying for is the habitual usage of their brand in association with the venue.

The lack of a stadium sponsor for all these years has been a real sore thumb to the project, fair play to Levy if he's leveraged that into a broader investment deal for the club, that would be taking lemons and making lemonade.

People may have moaned about transfers but nobody even thought about wage/revenue ratios in 2017.
Whatever Levy said in the past about building the stadium would not effect transfer fund was plainly not true , bit like polticians telling you how rich you will become if you vote for them.
Building the stadium obviously cost the club money which that otherwise may have been spent on the squad.

The Club has expended over £340m on the acquisition of land, the planning process (including a compulsory purchase order and legal challenges) and build costs to date, which now sees the upper tiers of the North stand being fitted with terracing. This was financed with resources of the Club plus the £100m drawn under the Interim Financing.
