Im feeling positive about it all. Yes ultimately we have the same owners still but something seems different. No more Levy marking his own homework for a start.
If im one of the kids of joe Lewis im not kicking levy out and pining myself as the face of the club just to put myself into the firing line unless I had big plans and changes that will impact the performance of thfc.
Everything is there apart from the team on the pitch and whilst we have spend large sums the approach has been wrong for a while and not worked.
Its nothing but gut feeling and blind optimism from me but I think now levy is gone the Lewis family will put there stamp on the club and invest heavily in the coming windows. Its the only way it makes sense and the only way the club (both value wise and performance wise) can move forwards.

I think we will see a big naming rights/sponsorship deal come in before the years up and heavy investment into the team.

Good post.
Nice to see some positivity. Too many negative Nancy's leaving a bitter taste over these past few days.

I feel able to breathe again now the stifling presence of Daniel Levy has been kicked in to touch

Onwards and Upwards 💪

Unless it's Jerry Lee I couldn't give a flying fuck.
Interesting useless trivia - Jerry Lee's illegitimate son, who played the piano in the Dennis Quaid film - lives down the street from me, and is sitting in his garage playing the keyboard most days on the route of my evening walk.

That Vinai interview is weirdly (in a good way) open.

What is this witchcraft?!

He's just a good communicator- it didn't come across any different to what I'd expect from Levy in terms of what was said but he delivered it in a much stronger manner.

He's essentially just said that it's business as usual and towed the company line about willing to invest within the parameters allowed (several references to PSR rules)

I am encouraged by the fact that Viv Lewis is said to be a regular visitor to watch the team play and went on the pre season tour. A supporter is better than someone that has no interest in football. Now I know Levy was also a supporter but he was not a part of the major shareholder.
I do think we cannot expect much from the winter market as the top players are not available, the test will be next summer.

This might be the strangest few days of Tottenham I can remember. My impression is we have seen a well executed and ruthless plot by the Lewis family to gain power. That interview by Vinai was odd, the constant references to the Lewis family, who I don't think were ever mentioned by Levy, and the parroting of talking points from Change for Tottenham. It is all too convenient, and so hypocritical, I thought it was almost comical. It had the air of some sort of mafia interview..."The family"... don't mess with them.

But I am excited, I feel like a weight has been lifted for the supporters and we can move on together; for once just get behind the team for bit. The Lewis "kids" are saying the right things and I suppose we can only hope their words correspond to action. Who knows what is going to happen but at least I have hope that we will try and properly compete.

There's a lot we don't know, but the basic outline of it isn't that complicated or mysterious.

Levy was always, despite his own minority stake, playing Napoleon with Joe Lewis' money. He acted with a degree of one-man control he did not formally have.

It was always understood that so long as the money stayed good, Joe Lewis, the money behind the operation, would never pull the leash on him.

That proved to be true in the end, but Joe Lewis' money became Joe Lewis' heirs and assigns money, and their view of Levy's dictatorial control of their asset has proven to be rather less accommodating.

Yeah, as I'd said somewhere along the line, formally legally speaking the assets being put into trust totally severs any power Joe Lewis personally had over the club.

But in the real world? People who are in the business of trust administration are not in the business of acting contrary to the wishes of still-alive billionaires, the most valuable kind of client for trust administration services.

Based on everything we know about Joe & Daniel, it's hard to believe that Levy has been unceremoniously sacked if Joe is still capable of speaking up against it.
Shiv Roy always wanted Daddy’s approval that he’d never give. You can imagine Joe being a right old bastard to his kids too. Daniel probably thought that protection would be ever lasting. Such hubris.

You are still failing to acknowledge that ENIC leadership has changed. The Lewis kids took over from their dad and one of the first things they did was commission a review of the club, then hire a Non exec chair, a CEO and fire Levy.
Today in Vinai‘s Club interview was the FIRST and only time the ENIC structure has been communicated, what had transpired previously was just Twitter rumours. I openly welcome this more transparent communication.

Nothing changes at Spurs unless there is a serious, multiple hundreds of millions, invested into the Club. Change of personnel doesn't hide this fact, as this is what is required to move the needle (After today’s news on City then you can bet the amount of investment needed has just grown by another few hundred million as they and no doubt Newcastle will announce world record sponsorship deals into their clubs.)

I’ve been wondering this ever since last week. Or maybe the Trust has been settled. Surely it would have leaked out had he died though.
He been stuffed and I expect to see a video link of him at the West Ham game waving (his pilot and secretary having cellotaped a stick to his arm to make his arm move whilst hiding under his dressing gown) to his kids cheering them on as they turn up on mass to kick the shit out of Sullivan and Brady whilst chanting “your going home in a Bahamas ambulance”.
