It is not the events that is the problem but the football decisions on transfers that are holding us back. Both Levy & Ange were involved for the last 2 years and have both gone. Lange has been here 2 years but the problem predates that. It will take longer for those presently in charge to improve the situation. What I do not understand is how the likes of Bournemouth on crowds of 11000 can compete with us and teams like them attract players and Managers that perform better than the ones we buy normally on higher wages and transfer fees. We bought Solanke & Bissouma from them because they performed well and they have not performed as well for us. That is more a worry than the events that produce income to allow us to buy players from those teams.
What you're failing to grasp, either through ignorance or naivety, is that the football club has been used as a vehicle to facilitate all of these non footballing events, rather than the events being used to facilitate a top tier, competitive football team, as we were falsely promised.

You only have to look at the calibre of player we sign, the player wages we pay, and the overall decline of our squad compared to other comparative clubs that dont hold all these events.

Just look at the league table and look at the state of our squad.

It's staring you in the face.

We are not a football club anymore. We are an entertainment business and football is just one part. A subsidiary. The necessary anchor tenant that the other stuff needs to feed off.

So how would it be better without the events? Do you actually believe another buyer would stop the events? The owners take no dividends out of the club and so the only way they benefit is in the event that they sell up which publically they say they do not want to do. With the poor football decisions on transfers, match day income is reducing and without European football next season will reduce again reducing the value of the club.

It is not the events that you should target but the poor football decisions.

All just sounds like the owners see far more value in the stadium and its alternative revenues than they do in THFC. It's not like housing a championship football team would hinder their ability to keep flogging pop concerts and whatever else.

Remember when Levy was still new to the club and said something like we came here for the investment, football is secondary.

As mentioned in the Thomas Frank thread ... I think ENIC's plan to create total apathy amongst supporters is working ...
They're flushing out the fans who still GIVE A SHIT about results and style, in favour of those who WILL eventually replace us and fill the stadium, who don't care two hoots for TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR, but are just looking for a day out, and probably don't care if they're watching The North London Hotpurs, Beyonce or the Bullshit Broncos vs. The Kansas City Crackwhores in the NFL

.... We're just a small-middling European Soccer team playing exhibitions in a Global Entertainment Venue!

The STADIUM IS the TROPHY AND SUSTAINABLE SUCCESS LEGACY they've been talking about craving...
... I'm starting to see that now!

You're not answering my question. How is it better with these events.

I agree that in theory it should be. But open your eyes, man. Open the link I posted above. Look at our players. Look at our wage to revenue. Look at how we have deteriorated since it opened.

ENIC had a dream....To build a multi sports and entertainment venue in the capital with an NFL franchise being the the ultimate goal and the focal point. They have openly stated this. It's not even a secret.

Tottenham’s new stadium to offer NFL a ‘permanent home’ in London - SportsPro

They couldn't build this from scratch, with their own funds, so they hijacked a massive, hugely supported historic football club and used it to build it and pay for it. That's you, me and anyone else that has ever or continues to put money in to the club.

The people who gain financially are the parasites. All the evidence shows that "every penny from third party events goes back in to the club" was a lie. A complete and utter fabrication.

As our place in the Deloitte money league rises, our place in the Premier League falls.

The club have an unwritten no statue policy outside the ground because they don't want to negatively impact the wider football public when they bring their wedge to the concerts, F1 go karting, boxing and NFL.

I'm not even going to debate this with you further because you point blank refuse to see what's staring you in the face.

If ENIC could sell the football club and keep the stadium and rent it back they wouldn't hesitate.

We've been scammed. Used and abused.

ENIC are the literal definition of football parasites

They know the NFL is coming (back) to Europe soon and that we're in prime position to have a team based in N17.

Wouldn't be surprised if we also owned an NBA team in the near future. Steve Nash is a Spurs fan and got mad ambitions to run a London-based franchise, so feels uber obvious it'll be added to our portfolio.

Although it won't generate what it does in the US, it's not unreasonable to think ENIC have done the maths and reckon that'd make up for us being in the Champo...or us being one of them clubs that finishes between 12th & 16th in the PL year in year out.

They were never in it for the football. They're not football people and they sure as shit aren't Tottenham people. They don't give a flying fuck. Tell them tomorrow that they can make as much income but they gotta dissolve the club and they would do it without a second hesitation.

Tottenham Hotspur announces initial £100m capital injection

We are pleased to announce that our majority shareholder, the Lewis family trust, has, through ENIC Sports & Development Holdings Ltd (“ENIC”), injected £100 million of new capital into the Club.

This equity injection will further strengthen the Club’s financial position and equip the Club’s leadership team with additional resources to continue the focus on driving long-term sporting success. This additional capital is part of the Lewis family’s ongoing commitment to the Club and its future.

Peter Charrington, Non-Executive Chairman, Tottenham Hotspur, said: “As I stated a few weeks ago, our focus is on stability and empowering the management team to deliver on the Club’s ambitions. I know the Lewis family are also ambitious for the future. Today’s capital commitment reflects that ambition and I would like to thank them for their ongoing support. We will continue to do all we can to ensure that Vinai and his team are supported in the best way possible to take this Club forward.”

Still waiting for this BTW

Like January 2009 when Redknapp was recently installed, ENIC reacted to the threat of relegation and our squad then was much better than we have today. With a week left of the window we’ll see ENIC’s plans laid bare, invest to avoid relegation and remove Fwank to save their investment or its Championship football and a football club whose value halves or more overnight.

Failure to do the right thing deserves to result in protests and boycotts the clubs never seen.

Where would a basketball franchise play ? There’s no infrastructure

We might finally get a real Tottenham Hotspurs :ange-arms2:

I wouldn't be surprised if at some point in the future we end up having to start all over again with a name like fc Tottenham Hotspur. If I'm honest it doesn't even feel like Tottenham Hotspur fc anymore. It's Tottenham hotspur business enterprise. They've destroyed and ripped the soul out of this club. Some would look at the stadium and training facilities and see success to me it's just business expansion.

So weird.

No comment on the manager's position. Next to nothing in real terms on transfers, if you set to one side the Gallagher transfer.

It's like the board are sitting there looking at each other and praying, or they think everything is okay.

It's just perplexing.

The £100m has been received per companies house.

There have been very few top players bought this window - last time I looked Spurs buying Gallagher put us into 2nd place in PL.

I think we would certainly like to find another goal scoring forward and chance creator (probably creative CM) but there are not too many of those available who are better than what we have.

Also worth saying that whatever we don't spend, may go to paying off some of the transfer debt which is high even by PL standards - nowhere in the announcement did it say it was to buy new players now, and paying down debt now may give us more headroom in summer if better players than what we have are not available now.
