For absolute clarity, it is impossible for me to be any less interested in what passes for thoughts that have been through your head.

We're never seeing the back of this guy are we? Even when he retires they will be wheeling him out as a Tottenham "legend".

Maybe when Utd and Mourinho were after him all those years ago Levy persuaded him to stay by promising to keep him at the club for the rest of his career?

The contract renewal he got under Mourinho was a real headscratcher. What on earth was Levy thinking?

I'm sure a club like Everton, Southampton, or even West Ham would like to have him. Just hope his wages aren't too high for him to be sold without us having to take a brutal hit.

Sean dyche wouldn’t have him. He requires defensive players who don’t shuffle backwards with their hands behind their back like a crab every week allowing any fool to shoot.

I don’t think it’s fair on Dier. He gives his all but he isn’t a top 6 defender. Other clubs have players like Dier but they are on the bench.

We as a club ask bench players to be the leaders. This is where the club needs to take responsibility, I do feel the likes of Dier are hung out to dry. We know there are a good few players not at the level we need and yet they are still here.

The stats don't say that.
What the stats determine as an error that leads to a goal is flaky at best.
Do they count the considerable number of occasions whereby a team scores after he backed off and didn't tackle when he had a chance?
Do the stats count the considerable number of times whereby he could step up a yard and intercept a pass before it goes to an oppo attacker?
Do the stats count the considerable number of times he tries a hollywood pass, when he's the last defender, and the ball and 3 attackers come straight back at him?
And most importantly - and this one i know for sure - the stat's don't count the number of times he fucks up but the ball doesn't go in the back of the net. Be that a save from the keeper, or a miss from the attacker.
That shit happens every single match. And he's not getting a black mark next to his name. And MoTD fans see we kept a clean sheet and Dier get's a pat on the back. Drives me bonkers.

And then when you get into the more complex effects of donkey defenders, having one, two, sometimes 3 in our case, on the pitch, causes the entire team to play worse football than it could.
One day, fans will realise that our problems, our decline, they started when our utterly wonderful back 4 of Walker, Rose, Toby and Jan were split up.

15/16 - goals against 35 (league best)
16/17 - goals against 26 (league best)
17/18 - goals against 36 (3rd best - Walker gone)
18/19 - goals against 39 (3rd best - declines of Jan and Toby and Rose)
19/20 - goals against 47 - no Jan, Toby, Rose or Walker now
20/21 - goals against 45
21/22 - goals against 40 - seemed to be half a season of bounce
22/23 - Lol 40 - worst in top 12 teams. Even WHU at 3rd bottom have conceded less.

I think so many people underestimate how a solid, reliable defence can allow everyone ahead of them to play football.

And yes, I do fully appreciate the value Dembele and Wanyama added at times. But even they used to play on the halfway line, rather than the edge of the penalty box like most of our team these days.

No, it doesn't.
I was wondering who you would turn to/on after Winks left.
If you are looking for a culprit for many of our goals conceded you have picked the wrong guy.

Again - not all of his brain farts end up in the back of the net, but he has them.
I'm there, almost every single game. I can see with my own eyes how often he fucks up.
Are you there every game?

And it's not me turning on him AFTER Winks
I've thought Dier was shit since he became a first team regular in CM in the Wembley days.
And i have stuck to that opinion.
We have a lot more than 1 shit player at any given time.

I have watched every Spurs game that Eric has played in since he joined the club. Maybe missed one or two that had no stream.
Dier has been consistently good.
