Speaking for myself here. Seen lots of mentions of Todd and have him on ignore, so no idea what bollocks he’s spouting.

The next match is the first high quality opponent England faces after having played 5 middle to low level teams. The other match has by far the top teams left in the tournament.

Every England fan I have spoke to has said how shit we are playing and how boring we are but we are in the semi so I’ll take it - France have also been boring though but do you think they will be complaining when they beat Spain on penalties and get to the final?

The best test of the best league in the world is success in the ECL. Over recent years EPL teams have won ECL every other year.

Indeed UEFA themselves rate the EPL as the best league in Europe.

Anyone who competes at a high level in sport knows winning is very difficult. For every winner there are 7 quarter finalists. England have been hampered by a mediocre coach, but you'll be grateful that this state of affairs is coming to an end.

I'm sure you hope Klopp is appointed England manager later this summer?

Anyway, the average standard at the Euros pisses all over all other international tournaments, so please sit back and enjoy.

TBH xG is much better for working out trends over a season or a longer period, using it in isolated matches doesn't tell the full story though and misses out a load of context.

K,O football has always been like that hence why you have more random events like this in cup matches as opposed to league matches.

So, in a nutshell:

  • Zawyer takes money from a ref convicted for match-fixing. Which he says 'had no effect on the outcome' - what was the fucking money for, then?!
  • Bellingham (un-)fairly? drags refs name through mud after that same ref makes a dodgy penalty call.
  • Whereupon the ruling body fines Bellingham a week's wages.
  • 3 years later the ref gets to officiate over a Euro semi-final where Bellingham is playing.

Let's be fair: it's almost impossible to imagine that Zawyer could remember an event so long ago, let alone harbour any resentment whatsoever towards Bellingham who was merely stating known facts. And even if he did, he is obviously a now-reformed model professional who would never let that undermine his decision or performance during the semi-final in any way.

Rice was awful against Switzerland I thought. Every time it was sideways or back.
