It's hard, nearing impossible to see how we don't win this. The following:

A very very easy draw. Could not have been more favourable.

One big side only to meet all tournament. Astonishing.

Weather has been the same as in England, so nothing to acclimatise to.

No injuries at all which is mindboggling.

No Spurs players so no hex.

Honestly, this is as good as it gets for any England set-up and to me it seems pretty much inevitable.

As a club we never ever have such a combination of contributory factors.
1 big side?...
Holland and Spain/France will make 2.....
Also the Swiss are very decent, they knocked out the holders...
Luke Shaw has been injured since he got there, also Guehi suspended last round....
And finally.....please don't hex us.....πŸ‘

Really hope Spain can pull it off tonight. Think overall they've probably been the best team in the tournament.

But no Le Normand and Carvajal tonight who have both had good tournaments, out through suspension. 48 year old Jesus Navas up against Mbappe could be a disaster, despite Mbappes tournament form.

Whereas France, defensively, have pretty much been a rock. Will be interesting to see Yamal up against Hernsndez and Williams up against Kounde.

In your opinion, these part-time footballers that England puts on the pitch or on the bench would probably have to play in the relegation match against relegation to hell even in the Vatican league.

I am also one of those ignorant people who thinks that the EPL is the best and, above all, the hardest league in the world.

But that can't really be true, because there are many from the Bundesliga in Germany who absolutely want to play in this EPL!

They are just as lazy bastards who want to have a good time with lots of money and don't have to do anything for it!

Then the thoughts flashed through my head that I briefly considered that it could be the coach of the English national team that the game of "my" team is not as I imagined or wanted it to be.

Or - now it's getting very amateurish - that the EPL has a lot more games in its season (without thinking about the appearances in the European cup games) than many other leagues.

So be it! England beat the strong, but of course lukewarm Dutch, reached the final and was lucky that France(!) or Spain were not well rested that day!

I think we have a better chance against Spain as we will get chances.
France will nick this, though. Probs on pens.
I agree. France much more solid defensively.

In this tournament Spain have been the best team so far. I'd actually then say Germany, and then it's close between France and Holland. Holland aren't an "easy" semi, just easier than Spain, and for England probably easier than Franc.e

I’ve no dog in the fight so I don’t really care who wins but I think England may finally do it.
However they will do it by playing puke football….
But this is the crux…. In ten years time will anyone actually care how the tournament was won, the fact Southgate stifled any creativity and excitement and adapted the we shall not lose bore you in to a coma method.
I suppose plenty of better exciting teams from England went to tournaments and got knocked out early by trying to be attractive and play the right way……

I've slagged off Southgate way before we lost the last Final we got to against the Italians as I think its criminal not getting the best out of our attacking players, however like you say if we actually win it no one will care about the boring negative football and Southgate will go down as a legend for finally bringing it home!

At the risk of sounding like a Spurs fan I just want to off-load an opinion about Saka. I'm just getting pissed off with all the media adulation, given how shit he has been up until that one strike and goal. Yes I cheered along with everyone else - that he had delivered that one move he does well. He reminds me so much of Boxer Deontay Wilder. Completely exposed as being bang average apart from the one thing he can do. A complete 'one trick pony'. Yes it is a fucking brilliant one trick, and if you are stupid enough to stick your chin out and let him throw his big right hand you deserve to be flattened. Equally if you are stupid enough to let Saka cut in and take a shot with his left you deserve to lose a goal. It's just that it has taken Saka 5 games to deliver his one trick and in the mean time when he was substituted and we saw Palmer on the right, we were suddenly a much better team. Saka its crap. Gooners may now respond....

Like a few others he was pretty good in the first 30mins of the first game and has been largely abject ever since....

Scores a goal and suddenly crazed revisionism claims he's been very good and our most dangerous player all tournament.

You sound like a Spurs fan. ;)

Honestly, who cares...when Bellingham scored against Serbia the media went into meltdown and since then nothing, equally when Palmer came on for 14 mins everyone was asking him to start and wondering if he was the key, it's how the media work especially during tournaments, if Kane scores tomorrow people will be back on the Kane bandwagon.

Every now and then I watch back the highlights of the 2019 champions league run……
If England actually won the euros, other then clips of them lifting the trophy who would ever bother to rewatch any of their games this far….πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Who watches full game replays of any cup route, other than maybe the final itself?

I would watch 15 minute highlight reviews showing the goals, of which a couple were truly exceptional.

The semi and final* could yet be corkers.
