Can’t argue with a home tie against a team who will be more focussed on trying to stay up.
Would have preferred a “glamour tie” against cannon fodder but at least it’s not away at one of the big guns.

Only 5 TV games for the 2nd round, I'm guessing could be as many as 8 for the third round as there'll be no Championship or PL games?

Pretty annoying that the first match where families might be able to get tickets this season is the FA cup game against Burnley and it's an 8pm Friday game.

I don't care much about the FA Cup any more which is sad. I think the fact that the FA described it in terms of being an asset that produces revenue for them in their original statement shows that they do not give a fuck about football. They have made it as meaningless as the League Cup. I always felt it should have a CL place instead of 4th.

Too many European games for almost half the PL has caused this.
There's also talk about expanding the World Cup and Euro's forcing more games on players between seasons.

Don't blame the PL for this, blame Fifa and Uefa,

The powers that be have completely fucked this once glorious competition.

No replays, especially for the 1st and 2nd rounds (which are unaffected by all the European expansion bollocks) is an absolute disgrace that does nothing but hurt the little clubs and denies them that much-needed pay day. (They could at least have retained 3rd round replays too)

All we have now are bloated European and intenational competitons, rendering groups stages pretty meaningless, and making qualification a complete waste of fucking time.

I’m sorry. I can’t take that reason seriously when the season finishes so we decide to fly off to Australia to play a match there.

Those pesky fifa and uefa guys!!

I still love the FA Cup. For match going fans, away days in the domestic cups, big allocations, a break from the premier league, it’s still a proper big occasion. People deride the league cup, but being at Fulham with 6,000 fellow Yids was amazing. I’ve loved the trips to everywhere from Rochdale to Preston to Sheffield… may not be a top priority for the international armchair fans but the FA Cup is still huge and still important. Winning it would be amazing.
