Management Fabio Paratici

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Honestly, I’m not that fussed if Paratici moves on.

If it was a choice between him and Munn to sit on the board representing the football department, I’d choose Paratici but if Paratici goes, I’d be tempted to ask Ange to stay on in some kind of upstairs role with Lange,

VDV
Vicario
Solanke
Odobert
Maddison
Gray
Bergvall
Vuskovic
Danso
Sweet talking Tel
Yes, even Johnson

Ange has an eye for Talent, no question and his ability to persuade players to buy in is pretty well-evidenced.

that was Paratici who got the club onto Johnson, of course once he came aboard Ange said yes please and wanted to get him in. But he was already lined up as a club buy it seems , just like Djed

Lange surely won't survive Ange being sacked. Should be fucked off alongside Munn.

Lange is a big picture, big brain type.

We are well set for the future and his recruitment will serve us well later down the road.

It’s obviously not worked with the short term but we don’t know who was really steering that direction. It looks to me like they figured we knew Levynomics won’t pay for truly elite level players who are ready now, or even players that are 1 step before being truly elite… so we tried to skip the queue and get younger players who are 2 steps off being truly elite.

I’m not blaming Lange for that logic and the likes of Gray, Bergvall, Odobert and Vuskovic look very well identified to fit that bill.

Lange has done a great job. This is a poor take that will age poorly

Wrong all season and will be wrong going forward. What you THINK will happen is irrelevant, what is happening is the team is in a disgraceful situation and if it wasn't for the fact that teams basically don't go down in the premier league anymore if they're established, we'd be fighting relegation.

I think that is far more Levy’s fault than Lange. We have a mess of strategy.

Lange is a data guy and seems to have been brought in to get bargains or potential. You look at the signings it’s Odobert, Bergvall, Gray players who are already good but with great potential. We don’t pay big wages so this is the only way. You sack Lange the next guy works in the same situation.

Before Lange we had Paratici who like defensive football (see Nuno) and was good at negotiating and able to get the likes of Kulusevski on the cheap.

In all this we hire an ultra attacking untested on the big stage manager in Ange. So we have a manager who perhaps is out of his depth with a squad built for no-one. It will take years and many transfer windows to know if Lange is good or bad as it’s a youth building model we now have.

He’s not talking about just this season, he’s talking about the bigger picture.

You change the guy building the squad and the coach, what happens if they go full flip flop to a fossil football Portuguese/Italian coach and decide to send Gray/Bergvall/Odobert/Gray all out on loan.

You can change the coach without ripping up the whole project and starting again. That would be the exact type of shit we’ve done that has made us an unserious club in the past.

We're an unserious club right now. The most unserious we've been in as long as I can remember.

Why is the only alternative to go the complete opposite direction?

I'd have no issue with a new manager loaning some of the young players btw. They're talented but other serious clubs aren't using 18/19 years old in key roles weekly for a reason, and hopefully next season we bring in some senior talent who at least relegate most of them to the bench for now.

Yeah but we already did use them and paid for it. Now they are a season more experienced and Prem ready.

What is the point of paying the price and then not enjoying the product?

Already being unserious isn’t a logical reason to do something even more unserious…

What we absolutely HAVE to do is sign ready now, high level players in the summer now. Regardless of who the coach is.

Based on signings like Solanke and Danso, I have no issues with Lange trawling through his spreadsheets to help us find those players.

I like Solanke but spending 65 million pounds on a 27 year old striker to score 7 goals in 20 league games is hardly indicative of trawling through spreadsheets. Danso is bang fucking average btw, and when the new signing thrill and "better than dragusin" factor has ran out, this will eventually be the consensus.

Ultimately, Ange is fucking shite and its hard to judge a lot of these players, but you can only judge on the situation they are in and it's not great.

I doubt we'll bring in anyone that significantly and immediately upgrades the team. We'll probably go for players who play in the relegation zone or Championship as we did with Maddison, Odobert, and Johnson. I don't think we can lure the best talents around. We're shit and the chairman won't pay the wages.

Romero probably wants out and I don't know why Vdv would want to stay here much longer either?

I think we might see a bit of panic in the summer after we end up finishing 15th/16th and get something of a reaction from the board.

Maybe that's me engaging in being delusional for a bit.

Solanke is more than goals though. Hes outstanding holding the ball up and one of the best pressing forwards in football.
Finding that did require data work.

You talk about only being able to Judge based on right now but also say eventually everyone will see that Danso isn’t good… right now everyone can see the he fits the way the squad is being built.

The point is simple, a bad season with record numbers of young players getting bedded in, isn’t a reason to rip it up and start again.

Not everything is doom and gloom. It’s just the start of a cycle for a new team.

You didn't need data work to see Solanke was good at that stuff, and nobody pays 65 million for good hold up work.

That is me judging now. His performances are being overrated due to being used to absolute trash in that position, he came in and did some competent stuff ... he's nothing special as a player, a decent back up centre back. Wolves were after him to start I think and that's about his level imo.

It's pretty doom and gloom, we have some decent young talent but zero spine whatsoever and we can't win football matches.

They'll blame the low table finish this season on the injuries and think the players we currently have are good enough otherwise.

Maybe we'll pick up Delap from Ipswich Town, and that Cardaso geezer at Real Betis because we've already got a sort of deal for him.

If a new manager comes in is Levy really going to give him a lump of cash for top players and break the tight wage budget?

I'm not even confident that Ange will be sacked at the end of this season.

Vicario
Romero
VDV
(New DM)
Bergvall and Gray coming through
Maddison
Solanke

That spine is back to the top 5 we finished last season.

Need to absolutely nail the pieces around them if we want to challenge for more eventually.

Was Ange Lange’s choice though. I mean I thought this guy was basically the head of squad building and Odoburt, Gray, Bergvall aren’t particularly bad, much better than Hitchens. It’s pretty clear because of our low wage model it’s all about data and youth so I am not sure changing Lange really fixes anything.
Lange is by far the least of our worries in the behind the scenes aspect of the club.

Yeah , they will panic to try and regain the ground lost by their own incompetence . Then a few on here will claim “ Levy has stepped away , new era , look how much we spent”

The usual claptrap

I get that some feel that behind the scenes, our club isn't set up for WINNING, but it's starting to feel like we're deliberately set up to LOSE!!

Is this the Footballing version of the film: The Producers ..?

Is Levy harnessing his inner Mel Brooks...?

Is THAT the master plan all along...
A MASSIVE insurance write off job!!

Munn brought Ange in I would think, that and his mate is high up in Base agency and the club seem so tied to them. It was all jobs for the boys.

I am not sure Lange has anything to do with it whatsoever.
