Management Fabio Paratici

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Maybe that's the way forward for Levy. As soon as the 'trial' expires, he will hire a new Director to replace Fabio. But also place him on a 'trial' period.

Rinse and repeat that for 26 times over the next year and he doesn't have to pay anyone for a year's worth of having a Director of Football in place..

Kinda like what my friend use to do with Hello Fresh, by using different email accounts 😄

Anyone else think Paratici might get the boot before he even starts?
I was thinking the same earlier. He doesn’t officially start until July 1st. So can we terminate now. I do t think his what we need and we should cut our loses now. If this dock was behind pulling the plug on a nobody as soon as his mate was available then that is a disciplinary offence straight away. I posted previously this is shock management practice. A bit like guzumping.0

I've actually been quite excited by some of the names we have been linked with and actually had talks with. You just know we will up a laughing stock and appoint Ian Holloway

Paratici accused of betrayal – ‘Mockery, deviation’, Lake Como meeting, Harry Kane, Tottenham not acting normally

The managerial situation at Tottenham Hotspur is receiving coverage around the world, as the club stumble from one target to another.

Italy is inevitably giving plenty of attention to the saga, given multiple targets for the position have either been Italian or recently worked there.

Correire dello Sport have gone in heavy on Tottenham, and specifically their new Managing Director of Sport Fabio Paratici, especially when it comes to the treatment of Paulo Fonseca.

The Portuguese coach was thought to be just an announcement away from getting the Spurs job, before the club apparently changed direction and moved for Rino Gattuso instead.

Paratici is accused of betraying Fonseca, who was already lining up work with him.

Corriere dello Sport state: ‘This is a story of illusions, mockery, misdirection, deviation. A story that goes beyond the normal dynamics of the market.’

Gattuso leaving Fiorentina quickly saw Fonseca dumped, and the Italian newspaper explain that whilst there were likely disagreements between the coach and La Viola on transfers, it’s unlikely he wanted to enforce solely Gestifute (Jorge Mendes’ agency) signings on them.

Intriguingly, it’s explained Paratici and Fonseca spent two days together at Lake Como, ‘planning strategies and discussing every detail’. The director is said to have assured his new coach that Harry Kane would be staying at Tottenham, despite the player’s desire to leave.

Whilst this was happening, Fonseca’s agent, Marco Abreu, reached an agreement on a deal with Spurs, and started the process to get a work permit.

Then things started to falter, and according to Corriere dello Sport, the reason wasn’t tax related: ‘In reality, however, it is Paratici who changes course when he realises that Fonseca would like to play with his preferred form, the 4-2-3-1, and not with the three-man defence.’

There was also disagreement on backroom staff, with Paratici said to have preferred a collection of people from Tottenham’s pool.

Still, when the pair left Como, it was thought that Fonseca would be manager.

Paratici then changed his mind, and Fonseca is particularly annoyed he wasn’t even informed personally, and the article states: ‘Fonseca learns about it from the newspapers, without even a phone call. And as you can easily guess, he doesn’t take it well at all.’

So, to top it all, Paratici & Levy are moral cowards, lacking the backbone to tell Fonseca personally that he wasn't getting the job.

Garbage human beings.

If true, even some of it, then i'd rip up his contract. Not only is it shitty behaviour you can't have a DOF telling a coach what formation to play and picking all his staff. A DOF should be supporting and buying agreed targets not basically picking the team. Add in him wanting Gattuso and it looks like another totally ill suited appointment.

Not like Levy to fuck up hiring someone . I’m shocked
I think we need to take a step back for a moment.

We've no idea if this guy is good or not, time will be the judge of this.

I think whoever is DoF their job initially will be like turning around an oil tanker, this isn't going to happen overnight and it will take loads and loads of pieces put in place before we witness any signs of movement in the right direction.

We've made the move away from Levy running the football side of the business, THIS, FOR NOW, IS A GREAT THING.

Having Gattusso dropped as a direct result of fan pressure is also A GOOD thing. It will be a wake-up call for Paratici, where in Italy there really is very little accountability for the hiring of Captain's or Managers even Snr Management at Board or ownership level who have in the past or present whose views have been racist, misogynistic, homophobic *insert whatever other dubious view*, over the last few years there are scores of examples to draw from and many of them from very high profile individuals. He could have made this appointment without anyone batting an eyelid (just as no batted an eyelid when he was appointed at Milan, Napoli and Fiorentina), his comments all preceded these hires.

This could be death by a series of many cuts, or he could have a very detailed plan and knows what he's doing and how to execute it. But for now, we do have a "football man" running the football side of the business, and not Levy.

I don’t believe the Gatusso rumour at all. I feel it was just Mendes doing what he does.

For me personally, I have next to no faith in whatever Levy does. Last time we had a DoF it was a disaster. Levy has a tendency to repeat his mistakes, can’t help but interfere . DoF’s for him are nothing but firewalls to pass the blame onto. We all know how this story goes , you could almost set your clock by it.

I'm honestly inclined to not get too worked up about any of this as it does seem like the rumour mill is at stupid levels of overdrive. But Fonseca's wife said she was looking forward to the new move the other day and then all this happens, so there's likely more than a grain of truth to it all.
