Management Fabio Paratici

To acknowledge that mistake (or acknowledge an individual weakness within a skillset) has been made and do something about it.

That's been done. We now have a DoF.

Anyone who thinks you can out an owner is wasting their time. Focus on the individual problems and demand change around those.

He is completely accountable. You are confusing accountability and leaving. AIn't gonna happen, has never happened.
We dont have to demand any change because the one thats accountable cant be punished for his mistakes. So it really means nothing at all for levy to be held accountable.

The biggest criticism that been aimed at him and one that completely backed up across the entire fanbase, not just 16yr olds shouting "out" at the moon, has been his football knowledge (the decisions he's made from flopping from different philosophies etc). This has been recognised so he's taken himself out of this and appointed someone who's experienced in this.

This is called change.

Stop looking for something, "punishment" that impossible and will never happen to implement.

His appointment is terrible though so not sure why people should be happy when he keeps making bad decisions.

Levy overruled his DoF's preferred managerial choice literally yesterday.

You say, believing press reports about Daniel Levy surrendering absolute control.

I mean, come on.

Maybe it's true. Maybe. But let's not be naive here.
Levy won't surrender complete control. He is too invested. And one thing's for sure, when money is being spent Paratici will need to be persuasive.

Maybe if it goes well, Paratici will earn Levy's trust and be given more freedom, but it won't happen on day 1.

So in the negotiations with Fonseca Paratici apparently told Fonseca that he had to pick from the pool of coaches already at Spurs to add to his backroom staff. This fits in with negotiations with Conte where Conte wanted 7 of his own staff but Spurs/Levy said he was allowed 4 and the rest had to be picked from those already at the club. Surely this is Levy imposing limits and not Paratici because in Italy managers have huge backroom teams and can pick whoever they want

Also I read that Levy has allowed Paratici a lot of control but when it comes to the final decisions regarding players and salaries then Levy has the final ultimate say.

Any chance of sharing this article?

I wanted a DOF to take over football decisions but hiring a crap DOF who doesn't fit our club at all makes no sense.

I wasn't so desperate that I need to support someone who is a terrible fit just because Levy gave him the title of DOF.
Spot on. I've been banging on about getting a DoF for ages but it has to be someone suited to us not just any random. Its like saying people have been moaning about not having a manager so we can all shut up now because we've appointed Mike Mcarthy.

My big concern is that Paratici is unsuitable for the role. We have Ally Gold saying that he wants a conservative manager (see Jose, AVB, Graham) while Levy recently talked about the clubs DNA which historically is attacking football.

The fans (me included) have little to no time for defensive managers. Our links are also mostly Italian which give the impression this guy only knows Italy.

I have always wanted Levy to step back but that has been on the proviso we get a suitable DoF. This feels like we have gotten someone who doesn’t fit the club or the league. I am therefore in two minds as to whether I want Levy involved or not. It’s just a fucking mess.
I'm sad to say that I agree.

Trouble in paradise already?

Wasn't he supposed to start to working the first of July, according to the press release when he was hired? Maybe if we paid him for working in June he wouldn't have to sell all this shit to the media.

Are we making decisions based on twitter trends now? Yikes.

I am not sure what is worse them not thinking that the comments should rule him out immediately or if they saw twitter and then changed their mind based on that.

Of course, it could all be just BS, although zero reason to think that, but really Gattuso shouldn't have been an option based on his on field stuff let alone getting it to the point that fans had to point out what a POS he is off the field.

Castles shared details of why the move for Fonseca fella apart.

“The brief from Fonseca’s camp is that it fell apart over coaching staff and Tottenham’s refusal to build his coaching team. There’s also a story that was released in Italy that the reason that agreement fell apart was because Fonseca would be earning less in England, due to the benefits of Italian tax laws, than he would have been at Roma, and Spurs were not prepared to pay the additional,” Castles said.

"I’m told that is false and that the net salary was essentially the same in Rome as it was going to be in London, and it was actually Levy’s decision to overrule the choice of the new Managing Director of Football, Fabio Paratici, who he said would be heading up the football side of the club going forward
