City case starts in September lasting 12 weeks then 115 separate appeals, verdict expected 2035!
Ah, yes, the following article says they had planned to start the hearing later but they have decided to bring it forward. A decision after appeals is expected by the end of this season still.

They say the hearing is set to last about 2 months.

Watched ten or so minutes of the overlap fan debate on youtube before realising that life's too short.

But in it they touched on FFP and a Newcastle fan went to the go to, tired old argument of "A points deduction isn't fair on the fans".

If we're going by that logic. Then surely this weekend if a player two foots someone, then headbutts the ref, we can't possibly consider sending him off.. Because after all it's really the fans that suffer when their team goes down to ten men.

It's a bullshit, stupid take that I cannot believe is given any respect as an argument.

“ An independent panel found that the Premier League did not have the jurisdiction to punish the club “ …..

apparently because how the rules
“ are actually written “ .

I’m getting a bad feeling about this ….

Crock of shit.

It's just corruption all the way down with these oligarchs.

Long story short..... Lester delaying proceedings (and toying with the accounting year cut-off date JUST LIKE Everton did) has allowed them to duck 2 opportunities for legit punishment for their FFP breach (thus breaching their way back into the EPL & associated lucre).

City & The Racists are licking their lips.

If I understand it correctly it's because they were relegated on the 28th may and the accounting period was until 1st June

Thanks for the explanation ; I feared the worst wrt other clubs getting off a technicalities; I guess it could still happen ( with enough highly paid lawyers / financial experts ) .

It’ll be interesting to see if anything happens if / when LFC avoid relegation by a point ( ie by the clubs below them ) .

Everyone calling for FFP can now admit its had a negative effect. Clubs spent less money, acadamy and home grown players sold to balance the books.

Its only to protect the traditional clubs and clip the wings of ambitious upstarts like Villa, Newcastle, Forest, WestHam

Need to work with the EFL as I think they missed punishment last time they were promoted as they were in the PL.

Don't think other clubs can do anything.

The easy way to do it would be for both the PL and EFL to state that neither will allow a club entry to their league whilst under investigation from the other.

Promoted teams thought to have cheated would be stuck and relegated teams would have to go into non-league football - everyone would immediately stop fucking about.

So why could Nottingham Forest not have argued that they were only in the league one season and the 105 million losses allows over three seasons didn’t apply to them as they were in the championship ?
