a better analogy would be do you value your favourite room(THFC) in your house more than your actual house(football)

you're comparing football to abit of wood and concrete and THFC to your whole house which is of far greater value lol

analogies are mostly shit anyway and a cop out from discussing the actual subject at hand, they are too easy to manipulate to suit your agenda(not you specifically just in general)
Well I care more about Spurs then I do about football if that equates to which I prefer. Spurs have Levy, high ticket prices, football has all of that AND Charlie Adam, thus making football worse than Spurs, so I like Spurs more

football should definitely be more about working your legs out than your liver lol

but then what would modern day football be without the masses of alcoholics who cling to it

You really are a fuckwit of the highest order. Football in England and some other European countries, for over a hundred years has been about meeting up with your mates on a saturday, having a drink and getting a tiny bit over excited which may lead to a bit of disorderly conduct. Again, you have no credibility so I really shouldn't bite.

A working class sport. 90 minutes of the game is just part of the 24 hours of the saturday.

Again, fuck off.

lol mate you are a fucking lemming

credibility from you and your like is meaningless

football has fuck all to do with drinking and disorderly conduct, that would be hooliganism something that has plagued the game for too long

It's just my mind that's old. You know... I just won a bet the other day, 100 keepie uppies with a tennisball.

But the best part is yet to come... I played left back for most of my youth career.
Aiming to be playing for Spurs at the start of next season.

Ah.. Best move to left wing.

We don't like to play players in their natural positions. I know a guy who knows a lot about that, but he doesn't think anyone should be on the wing so doubt that would work out..

Tottenham.

How is this even a debate?

If Spurs folded tomorrow, what possible joy would I get from football? The feeling when that 3rd goal flew in yesterday, for example, would never be replaced.

If I'm being honest, when Spurs aren't involved the only joy I get from football is at the bookies.

First came exposure to footy, then my love for Spurs, and finally my passion for footy in general.
(Though the latter two had a bit of synchronization ... the more I grew into Spurs meant the more I grew into footy.)

As much as THFC are a huge part of me now, I can never forget the big picture: The beautiful game itself ... JOGA BONITO

because it is very interesting and multi-layered

sure if THFC folded tomorrow it would be fuckn awful for all of us but if you looked at the bigger picture imagine what it would do to the world if football folded tmrw

bushhill would have to come up with a new reason to get drunk and fight people :akabusi:

Spurs 100%, I can go without watching or following football, but there is very little that will stop me from watching a Spurs game, miss only 1 or 2 a season at most.

but is this not an oxymoron?

If Tottenham is more than just a team is football not more than just a game?

Don't entirely understand question but for me-

playing football & watching Spurs (both equal) > watching any other teams

When I get older though it will go, watching Spurs > playing football > watching other teams

:townhmm: :walker:

very rarely watch a game if it doesnt involve us or england, at a push. So I suppose its spurs first, football second.
If it all folded tomorrow, I would go watch some egg chasing at har;equins or something, instead

Sorry maybe I should clarify, but going without football I mean I don't feel the need to go out of my way to watch Spanish or Italian football, even the world cup. But Spurs on the other hand is a big part of my life, even the football aspect aside. It gives you something to belong to, a crest, a community, as a club you can identify with it and say that your Spurs. Maybe I can't explain it properly but to me, there's more than just the football being played.

If Spurs were to disband in the morning I don't think I'd even try to find a new team.

I wouldn't look for a new team either but I wasn't trying to make comparisons to any other leagues just football in general on a world scale at grass roots level all the way up. Living without THFC would suck but living without football means no THFC or the sport period. I guess deep down I don't really feel much of a connection with the club no more, it's just a business these days designed to turn a profit. Tottenham is just another cog in the multi billion pound generating machine that top level football has become. Were as football at the park with afew mates is still pure.
