Match Fulham (H) - 29/11 - 8pm

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

The type of players we have do not have any sort of cohesiveness whatsoever. Their individual skill sets do not compliment each other at all. This causes any manager to struggle. There need to be a serious overall through 3-4 transfer windows to fix this.
Badly constructed squad, poor recruiting, nonexistent academy production.
Agree apart from last bit about academy. We won’t ever know as all have been shipped at expense of purchased young players who are probably no better but bcos we bought them they are deemed instantly better than our own young players. Can anyone say for sure that Devine is nowhere same level as berg or gray. Or young Will would have just as ineffective as £40M Tel. Imagine Tel playing for Oxford he’d look crap. Is he really 40M times better than Will. Same with host of other players. Plus they would show some passion and heart. Frank is never giving any of our academy a chance. Look at the way Scarlett has been treated. The young kid with dbl barrel name looks quality but he won’t play him. He has nothing to lose and everything to gain by giving them a chance,

That donkey should be the first one out of the door.

But you have plenty of numbskulls here that like him as a player and defend him.

The truth is that we have very few players of class that other teams would want to buy.
VANdeVEN, Bergvall, and Kolo Muani. ??
If we don't buy class we will be mediocre.
Eze and MGW would have been good but we ended up with Simons. We were warned that he wouldn't cope with the physical nature of the premiership, hence Chelski backed out.
I don't think any of the top players have any desire to join this club. They're all looking for European football and massive wages

Said before Frank is an underdog manager. Denmark are underdogs when they enter the finals of a tournament. 92 Denmark were underdogs in the euros as got in through the backdoor and won it. I'm sorry losing to Fulham at home is non negotiable. Frank has to go.

What a humiliation! I can't recall having seen anything so ab-so-lute-ly fucking stupid as Vicario AT 1:0 DOWN ALREADY! No way our mentality monsters would recover from this. Frank I hold blameless for the most part, the only thing I don't get is why he still plays Richy, who is just so utterly useless these days. Why keep playing him?! That being said, never boo your own player during a match. NEVER.
Still here we are, the biggest laughing stock in a league including Pool and ManU. if I was a fan of the scum I would just take the piss and gloat and mix it up with some pretend pity and know that my club is running away with the title. This might become our shittiest season in living memory.

Good post. May I add that at this point, I consider our academy as just a grooming facility to produce the players we need to use for home-grown players quota, Just to comply with the rules. Scarlett is a big example of this. Why would you keep this kid around for so long and never give me a decent run to prove him self? The answer is, he is there to make the numbers only.

The player is a fraud.

Never a PL starting keeper.

Who was he flapping his gloves at when he made yet another howler?
Most keepers if not all are producing howlers in just about every game including all the top keepers. I dont even have to bother to mention them all. Its a unwelcome trend thats been going on for a while now. Having said that Vicario does save us often with some excellent saves. Of course theres no excuse though for blatant stupidity.

Was Porro pissed off at Bergvall after the game?

Yes - Bergvall was telling him to applaud the home fans and he told him sod that.

Sarr came in to calm it down Porro stormed down the tunnel taking his shirt off.

Porro is definitely one of those who thinks he's better than Spurs and doesn't want to be here. He berated the fans a few times at the corner flag for not cheering hard enough....., all whilst having his worst game ever for us.

First goal is definitely on Frank. These shots just from the edge of the box have been an ongoing trend here.See this and this.

Another one a few minutes later where Palhinha, similar to what he did in the Merino assist to Trossard goal, let the opponent have his way hit the woodwork. This guy is the last player on the team that would pull out from a challenge out of cowardice or disinterest, so let's not go for the lowest hanging fruit as the explanation here.

Hell, here's a piece analyzing the goals Brentford were conceding outside the box.

Everything points out to the conclusion that Palhinha and others are instructed to defend in this highly conservative way.We could only speculate on the reason behind this; but my hunch is that Frank is willing to live with those shots because he considers them low percentage / low xG hail mary plays that cannot hurt you repeatedly over the course of a large sample.

Well what I see is that we've been getting bombarded by them despite having a keeper whose calling card is his shot stopping. Something isn't right here.

To add to the bolded part regarding the wisdom of welcoming those shots:

They're not low percentage attempts as a rule. Funnily enough, what makes them that way is the football teams' usual willingness to take them seriously and deal with them accordingly by throwing bodies in the way. Once you start taking things for granted and getting out of the way like we've been doing under Frank, they suddenly start posing a much bigger threat.

This graphic from the broadcast that shows Fulham to record an xG of 0.35 was from the end of the first half. We could only guess the xG attributed to their first goal, but it must be significantly lower than 0.35 since that was hardly their only attempt until that point in the game. It was an accumulation of:
  • First goal+ second goal + another shot from the edge of the box that hit the woodwork I can vividly remember + others
So by all indications, xG of the 1st cannot be higher than something like 0.20. In other words, they have 20 percent chance of going in. Well I disagree, I think this estimate takes it for granted that they are being defended reasonably well.

When you're getting out of the way to invite the opponents to take those, that percentage probably skyrockets.

Frank is getting led astray by a faulty piece of math that misses this nuance I presume

For those complaining about the booing, I don’t condone it and I would never do it but give our stadium supporters a bit of leeway; I wasn’t at the game tonight but I know how difficult it is to get to WHL and at the price paid and on a cold winters night and as they all plod home in the cold and dark, I’m willing to cut them some slack.

Edit: mind you, it’s a bit daft booing your own player while the match is still in progress and it can still be won!
Not a big fan of individual booing but as you said i can understand. Fans are sick to the back teeth of the shit show going on

so what yuo are saying is "players should be putting their bodys in the way" if we had on weds night we woud have stopped to goals (think it was Gray & Roddy that turned sidewards as player shot)

After the Villa game at our place I think Frank explained his thinking on this in presser or interviews after match. Said the long range worldie strikes by Morgan Rogers are things he’s prepared to risk cos the xG from such positions is generally low… so Frank thinks it’s low risk to let opponents have that space outside our box but the evidence of the last few games would say this is quite wrong esp as we seem to give up on denying oppo space and time for shots at edge of our box.

Digging out a player who is the only reason we're not in a relegation fight is so bizarre. Even if he hadn't have made his mistake, we'd still have been absolutely diabolical. The 60th minute was out first shot on goal after being 2-0 down after what, 10 minutes is fucking unacceptable, and we all knew it was coming. Came into the second half with no intensity either, it's inexcusable.

Really hoping I wake up to the news the nightmare is over. It's getting much worse and this needs addressed.
Hes also the reason we are where we are

Last 3 includes Conte who did have a clear plan of how he wants to play, you could see patterns of play and he got us 4th with a terrible squad and left with us 3 points off 3rd with 10 games left. Because ange and Frank aren’t cut out for big premier league club management doesn’t mean the squad is useless and nobody can get a tune out of them. You sack until you get the right man. Nobody can tell me our team is worse than that Fulham team out there today.
Conte had kane and son. Also the fulham players werent gutless prima donnas

I can't see anyone defending Richy

He's as likely to be unavailable as he is to start up top and be completely anonymous... scores a screamer once or twice a year but misses sitters. Tracks crosses like he's got one eye. What's he offer that anyone could tout?
