About security checks yes, there have been stricter controls for all our games (Domestically and European) but there are not related to the Woolwich incident.

To enter the Stadium you need a Passport or driving licence as forms of ID to match the ticket name holder. (It's a new measure that is not 100% enforce but it's better to prevent for this kind of situations.)

Well this is going to interesting/fun/fucking heartbreaking!

Where has it been confirmed that Davis is out still? Interesting to see people bemoaning his loss. Davies wasn't good enough for us a few months ago.

If Davies is out then i'm almost 100% sure Poch will go back four with Verts at LB. He is pretty predictable as a coach the majority of the time, that isnt a criticism, but i cant see him trialing a brand new formation for this game.

I'll be absolutely made up with a hard-fought draw I must admit. I'd been waiting 21 years to see Spurs in Spain in 2011, I was so excited but the reality was pretty humilliating. The press the next day - not just the excitable sports papers like Marca, but also the broadsheets - were very hard on us, the pisstakes from Spanish mates, I have to say it hurt.

I just want us to give a good account of ourselves.

Well, I suppose I could live with us stinking the place out for 90 minutes and then seeing the ball bounce off Sissoko's arse while standing two yards offside and into the net...

If Davies can't play, still keep the Back 3, it's the best formation we have by a country mile.

Aurier - Toby - Sanchez - Verts - Son

Son was OK v Chavs in the semi. He gave away a pen through naivety, if he learns from his mistakes he hopefully wont do that again. We created far more then them in that game. Lost to 3 set pieces and a worldie, having scored 2 great goals ourselves. They were the best team in the country last season, that formation didnt do badly at all.

That defence plays to the greatest strengths of the other 4, as well ensuring we have pace on the left in front of Verts. I like Tripps, but the thought of him up against that lot with not much pace fills me with dread.

It's a big ask to put Walker-Peters there, despite his pace and ability to play LB (as evidenced in the U-20's). Don't even know if he's in the CL squad.

Son at left back versus Ronaldo/Isco's nimble feet?

Son at left back would work against teams who we will constantly attack and dominate. But against Madrid, we require genuine defending. Shame if Davis is out, but Son will be a disaster. Rather Verts play at left back.

We're fighting them on all fronts first the arsehole Pep now this lot what is it with the Spanish

I haven't read the article, can't see it online, but that part there is right. Our London rivals and some further afield take great delight in their anti semitism. We can't really complain about Chelsea and West Ham and Leeds and so on making hissing noises then also complain when this gets pointed out.

Spanish doesn't tend to pussyfoot about in the realms of political correctness as much as English seems to, I guess this has a good side and a bad side depending on how you see things

I think we will probably see Vertonghen given a go at left wing back. Unless we do what we did against APOEL and have Trippier at left back?

If the injuries are as predicted, I think we may/should go:

Lloris
Aurier Sanchez Alderweireld Vertonghen
Trippier Sissoko Dier Eriksen Son
Kane

No one's giving us a prayer here but at the end of the day, stranger things have happened, look at the Betis result the other week... COYMFS!

But we can complain about both Chelsea & West Ham having a Jewish owner and West Ham have as many or more Jewish fans than we have. We can also complain about the article having nothing to with that game tomorrow amongst many other things that are baseless in that article a small google search would solve those.

'Pussyfooting around political correctness' is that what justifies whipping up anti semantic fervour. It only depends on if you see that as ok to realise a good side.

Here's the interview (in Spanish). I'm busy and don't have time to summarise but non-Spanish speakers can put it through Google or whatever to get an idea. One nice bit is where the interviewer asks how Harry Kane has taken the news on Madrid's supposed interest. Pochettino answers

He takes it very, very naturally. Harry is a really mature lad with extremely clear ideas. His ambition is to do something very special with Tottenham, the club he supports.

"Harry Kane lleva el interés del Madrid de forma muy natural"
