Match Galacticos v the mighty Tottenham

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I love Madrid, but also can despise them. They’ll do all they can to get a penalty or one our players carded.

However, this will be a great game. They haven’t been great this year, but you can never rule them out.

- Lloris -
- Sanchez Alderweireld Vertonghen -
- Aurier Dier Winks Davies -
- Eriksen Son -
- Kane -

Reasonable except sissoko has to come in for winks in midfield . This is about winning the midfield battle too, not getting into a goal scoring russian roulette battle with madrid which we will get destroyed in.

Zidane is tactically stupid, He has no plan B. Madrid basically depend heavily on their attacking players. Modric & Kroos are too lightweight in midfield, but against someone like Winks they will have a field day. It is such a pain in the ass we have dembele & wanyama out, makes our job slightly harder. What I fear will happen is that we will be sliced open centrally , eriksen and son NEED to track back. and give a hand when we lose posession.

Madrid Fan here, been watching the EPL more and more over the past few years. Really love Pochettino work for Tottenham. Hoping we can have an attractive game on tuesday!

how are Madrid even likely to line up?

I'm 95% sure this will be our starting lineup.

Casilla or Keylor (If Healthy)
Nacho - Varane - Ramos - Marcelo
Modric - Casemiro - Kroos
Isco
Benzema - Ronaldo
We are 7.8 in decimal odds (6.8/1 in fractional odds) to win this game. That equates to a 12.8% chance of winning. I can't remember the last time we were this highly priced. Possibly the last Madrid game, or maybe Dortmund in the EL? Or Man Utd away when Fergie was still there?

I think odds are that high because we haven't lost a Group Stage game in over 5 years (October 2012). Currently an all time record of 29 unbeaten games (22 Wins, 7 Draws).

But at the end of the day this is football, any team can lose in any given day.

Good Luck and see you on tuesday!

With all your police in Catalonia, it will be easy for us to "Koln" you.
I think there is maybe 400,000 Spurs traveling to Spain for this. Lock up your daughters.

And Ronaldo the sexy lil fucker

Winks is a lot better at keeping hold of the ball, using it and recycling it. Sissoko is better at getting us the pitch we needed.

All down to personal preference, but I think we’d benefit more from Winks starting.

Fuck me, we bought 3 defenders this summer and are still one short. Foyt (how the hell is it spelled, foyit, foyjt, fojt, fuckoffjt?) Is too green, Dier is needed in midfield. But we're much better playing three central defenders with attacking fullbacks. How Davies can play.

If Ben is still out... Seeing as a little extra steel is required anyway, how about:

Hugo
Dier / Toby / Sanchez
Aurier/ Sissoko / Winks / Jan
Son / Eriksen
Kane

.....?

Bench is wafer thin tho.

Samuel56, do you live in Madrid or Spain? Have you seen or heard anything about increased security on Tuesday, extra checks on tickets, that sort of thing? I haven't but there were stricter controls than normal on buying tickets from Madrid's website. I wondered if it was a reaction to what happened at the Arsen*l ground vs Cologne the other week...
