Ex-Spurs Player Gareth Bale

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I agree.

Why bring him off the bench at half time? If he is fit enough for 45mins from the bench, why can't he start for 60 mins from the start? Does 15mins make that much of a difference?
He's had two significant injuries already this season and played 60 minutes on Thursday.

He hasn't been able to put a consistent run of games in for over a year at this point. It's smart to ease him back in.

Although I agree with you about being mindful of how we should ideally bring him into the fold, I think the sentiment here was to get at West Ham with something positive.

If he started over Moura, who was largely deflating amongst his spurts, he'd have the lions share of chances, as we saw in the second half. I know who I'd rather have standing over a rolled ball across the box

Sit him for the virtually-done second leg on Wednesday, then play him for the full 90 on the weekend to crack open a Burnley squad that will be all-in on clogging things up.

Best player on the pitch by a mile today and was oozing class, got an assist and was unlucky not to have more assists and a goal, needs to start much more

Thought Bale was really good today , still got amazing talent, couldn’t give a monkeys if he doesn’t do the defensive stuff, he needs to be in our attack. Wanted him to start and maybe things could’ve been very different. However ,can’t help thinking that if he’d started and things had turned out the same, he would somehow have been blamed.

The problem with Bale is the problem with a lot of the squad. We have players that are best suited for attacking, possession based football. If we played the first 60 minutes like we did the last 30, it would have been 1-3 instead of 2-1.

Said it all along, Bale is by far our best player to be in a front 3 with Kane and Son. He pisses all over the hapless Bergwijn and Lucas. Shame we got a manager that shits himself playing these 3, in fear of being to attacking. Get a new manager in who isn’t afraid to play these 3 together. Bale was superb today and one has to wonder how different our season could of been had a different manager played him from the start of the season constantly
