The Leicester celebrations, I genuinely don't begrudge him... he is a Leicester fan after all!Sadly, I agree with a lot of what is posted in this thread. Lineker was my hero as a kid, scoring goals aplenty for England and Spurs. But his moves to disown us over the years, culminating in his celebrations when we drew 2-2 with Chelsea to hand Leicester the title really grate.
It's the rest of it, when Leicester aren't involved, and he still seems to have a grudge against us that I can't understand...
I assume he was happy for Everton the other night?
Or was he punching the air and high-fiving Micah Richards and Alan Shearer in their weird little MOTD dungeon when Palace went 2-0 up???
No, thought not!
I love the fact players support their own teams... it makes them real...
But whilst I don't expect Lineker to favour a team he played for, over a club he grew up supporting... you'd expect some kind of affection!
Ian Wright, Alan Smith, Lee Dixon or Thierry Henry didn't grow up supporting Arse... yet to listen to them, the affection they have for a club they 'merely' played for, far outweighs the opinion some of our ex-players have towards us...
Maybe Wenger really did sell their souls to the Devil while he was there, in return for success... and they're just not allowed to speak out against the club for the rest of their lives!
