It would be hilarious should Brazil not recover and fail to qualify from the group - currently 6th (out of 6 automatic qualifying places, plus 7th getting into a play-off), albeit only 6 of 18 games played. I'm sure they will turn it around but still, they are all over the place, and all that with the greatest number 9 the world has ever seen...

I read they maybe changing the format to smaller groups, as you say it's a brutal 2 year qualification period. Guessing it might start by default with the WC 2030 in Morocco / Portugal / Spain, given that three south American teams, Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay automatically qualify by hosting three of the early games in their respective countries.
Also talking about merging with Concacaf, to make a FIFA region around 50 nations, similar to Europe, Africa and Asia.

No idea mate. He played decent minutes and they won in Brazil. Had to be a decent team performance to do that.
