Explain how it was a fluke?
The prior 7 seasons Kane averaged 3 PL assists so yes, getting 14 assists in a season was/is a statistical anomaly.

The bulk of those 14 assists came in the first half of the season where Son's finishing was ridiculous. Goals he probably should not have finished. If you recall, we were even 1st in the tables for a period of time which in and of itself was a massive fluke.

In terms of advanced stats, Kane was at 7 xAssists vs 14 actual. In other words, based on his passes and all other variables considered, he would have been expected to have 7 assists last season however he got 14 as he was a huge beneficiary of Son's ridiculous finishing in the first half of last season.

Kane will likely never get close to 14 PL assists in a PL season again. Doubt he will get 10.

The same couple of dickheads in this thread are making it a damn sight easier to get over Kane's fuckery over the summer...... Ironic really.

But he was still good enough to get them right? Plus win golden boot on multiple occasions yes?

Jose was bad in the fullness of time, but he did do a handful of things fleetingly well, and briefly mixing Kane and Son’s talents in a way the league couldn’t figure out how to stop was definitely one of them.

I'd agree with you - credit to Jose. Jose did well while the Kane/Son combo was working for a short period of time but it was never going to last. He exploited a tactical loophole but team's quickly caught on and we never found the same magic.

10/14 of Kane's assists came in the first 11 PL games. The remaining 27 games Kane had 4 assists which is more in line with his assist/passing ability.

Super Jan got the assist for Son's Burnley goal right?
And? Kane finished ahead in assists of every player in premier league and had most goals in premier league. The same rule for assists applied to every other player. Turns out kane was better than every other player in the premier league at scoring goals and making assists 🤷‍♂️

Fair point but we finished 7th so maybe playing through Kane is not the right direction for the club.

Kane's the only real beneficiary of playing Harry Kane ball as he's obviously going to put up great individual numbers if everything is played through him.

However, the rest of the team suffers because we're slower, stagnant and not dynamic. If we were able to bring in an Eriksen type of player that would change things as far as playing Harry Kane ball but we don't have one at the moment.

when eriksen played kanes assists went down but his goals went up because he didnt have to worry about creating goals for others. Kane has played in a few different roles for us and despite his fuckery this summer has banged in goals in all of the roles

I don't think a statistical anomaly is comparable to a fluke. Fluke implies it was more down to luck, whereas a statistical anomaly may be down to other factors such as improved fitness, change of position, change of team tactics etc. Harry did begin to come deeper and play more through balls resulting in goals last season and this was a new stat for him to excel in but I don't think it was down to luck aka fluke. It was a conscious decision (I assume as he wanted the ball, different tactics etc) to get the ball and use it.

Where might we have finished if he hadn't played Harry ball tho. I think Harry ball was a product of poor performance by the midfield and shocking tactics from Jose and shocking team selection choices by the same.

Harry did what he had to do and I dread to think where we would have finished without him.

Seriously fucking XG, this game got by for generations without this shit. I wonder what Alan Gilzeans XG was asked no human fucking being ever!
To meet its a stat some that made up to give the knobheads at half time something to talk about. What the fuck does it even mean? Who cares what the expected goals are when in reality the scoreline is the main stat that really matters.
