What would be the point in comparing Ronaldo of say 5-6 years ago to Kane now? One was one of the best players of all time, the other is a good striker. Obviously Ronaldo's game was better, he was a much better player.

I've never heard anyone say they think Kane is one of the best players ever, and if they have then they're dense. Comparing him to someone like Ronaldo in his prime is just pointless, he's levels above. You're talking one of the better strikers of his generation vs arguable best of all time.

Any striker, no matter how good their all round game was, would be shit if he scored only 5 a season. Strikers are primarily judged on goals. But that doesn't mean Kane is purely a poacher, there are other commendable aspects to his game.
