Ex-Spurs Player Harry Kane

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Honest feeling that Kane doesn't have ligament damage. He didn't roll it over too bad looking at the replays and the studs from Delph may have exaggerated the pain. Here's hoping he'll only need some swelling to subside.
He can only damage ligaments that are still attached to the bone. His previous ligament damage means that he has NO ligaments to be injured, ligaments do not repair themselves like muscle tissue, once they have been snapped that's it, they are gone for good (there is a surgery that can take ligaments from somewhere else in your body and those can be fused into place, which of course Kane hasn't had this). In addition to a snapped ligament they can also get stretched, I don't know if these shorten back over time, but my understanding is they don't.

So, he might have sustained new damage to his ligaments that remain by either stretching those or snapping those. In this case, he will almost certainly be out for the rest of the season.

However, you are right in that he could be back because you can't damage ligaments that you haven't got left to damage. Remember Bale, he would roll his ankle over to almost 90 degrees and be back playing after a couple of weeks, this was because he had no ligaments left to injure.

All guesswork of course as it isn't known just how badly he injured his ankle previously. This is a weak point now for his entire career, it's not a major thing other than losing precious game time.

Starting to worry that this repetitive injury could prove to be a long term problem for him and even career threatening if he does it too many times.

Got to protect himself.

Having said that it was an impact injury. His ankle did roll but you never know it might just be sore and bruised. 🙏

As a few have said he’s got to protect himself. That injury reminds me a bit, bizarrely, of Gazza. Nothing area of the pitch, flew in a bit recklessly and has done himself. Very stupid injury to pick up.

Is there a permanent ankle weakness now, I've lost count of how many times he's done an ankle in ?
Surely the same injury over and over can't be coincidence ?

It's like he's cursed this season, I hope this is not what it's going to be like for the rest of his career, always injuring his ankle.

Hoping that Llorente and Son could step up again and produce while Kane makes a swift comeback. Just gutted he's off again just when we've got DESK back together again.

That was my first reaction too and posted as such

Delph’s studs ended up on top of Harry’s ankle
Dirty cunt
Thought Poch was going to head butt him at the end
Simeone would have

If that's the case, I hope one of our boys takes one for the team, and goes full in on Delph in the next game - I'm talking about a leg breaking, two footed, studs up, flying tackle. If it ends the cunts career, so be it.

We'll be fine. Don't make me wheel out our 68% win percentage without Kane starting stats again.

Winning the Champions League DOES get harder though. Because its likely we'd still need to beat City away and then likely Juve in the semi final and then probably one of Liverpool or Barcelona in the final all without Kane.

Top four won't hinder on Kanes fitness or not. Regardless of form preciously, our remaining fixtures are generous.

That's rubbish:

Mate I have torn ligaments (60%) in my right knee and in BOTH my ankles, I suppose all of the years and fucking years on the treatment table I've been lied to by literally EVERYONE!!

But you're not a professional footballer. You need ligaments for those. An average person can live without various ligaments and go about their daily business but not a professional football player.

Big statement mate, hope you're right and SOn & Llorente steps up again.
