Ex-Spurs Player Harry Kane

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Needs to start protecting himself more. A couple of these ankle injuries have been accidents, but tonight was an example of risk/reward not being there, regardless of if Delph left some on it. I get that you can't play to NOT get injured, but you can certainly protect yourself a bit more in certain spots.

The thing is we played like we did as a result of not just Kane but ALL our players being aggressive. If you are passive against City (one of if not THE dirtiest teams in the league) you lose. But we won last night as a result of us playing with that attitude.

Personally I think he is getting close to breaking point with his ankles.

Clearly there is a weakness in one if not both. That can be down to many reasons, one of them genetic or how he kicks the ball but it has to start to become a mental as well as physical concern.

I think he is already a touch slower than he was 3 years ago and if he suffers more ankle woes it will start to impact beyond just his pace. It could be ability to turn or get shots off properly.

Messi when younger had problems with his hamstrings but got it sorted.

Kane needs a remedy to weakened ligaments or his career may not hit the expected heights.

Part of being a professional is knowing when to be aggressive and not. There really wasn't anything to gain there for Kane. This wasn't like the Millwall injury where he was in the box or something. I don't think we lose our aggression if we apply it smartly. For someone like Kane with five ankle injuries, its something he needs to try and manage. Once or twice is a fluke, but the continuing issues he has having means he needs to tweak something in his game just to protect himself and his career. Its in his and the clubs best interest.

Sorry mate completely disagree, Fernandinho didn't have to elbow Kane in the back of the head and push his face down, he was already on the ground. The game is about attitude, fighting fire with fire, you can't pick and choose this, every tackle, every bit of "afters", every bit of verbals all adds to the attitude of the game and each team. You can't turn this off like a tap, it exudes every minute of the game. It sets the tone. It's the Eric Dire tackle on Ramos, every battle is there to be competed and won, no matter how small. You saw this most when it was England players and England player (Delph/Kane, Walker/Rose, Tripps/Sterling) these lads are mates, yet also offered the biggest and hardest fought battles on the pitch.

This is agree with. It was obvious they targeted Harry and the order came from Guardiola. For that alone if I was Poch I would have gone to Guardiola at the final whistle and told him he was fucking out of order and that he can go fuck himself.

Bo!!ocks.

I don't care for Spendiola but of course you say give their striker and talisman sh!t but within the rules.

Let's be clear Delph did nothing wrong especially compared to Fernandinho.

We could benefit at times from a bit more cynicism in our play.

It's not fcuking tiddlywinks.

I fucking hate that people are blaming Kane for the injury. Two players went for the ball and one stood on the other's ankle with a straight leg and then had the nerve to shout in the injured man's face when he was on the ground and in pain. But now the media are painting this as Kane went in 'to do him' and so got what he deserved. FUCK. OFF. There was nothing malicious at all about Kane's challenge, he was basically trying to block the ball. I don't think Delph necessarily meant to hurt him either, but he did go in with full force and a straight leg nonetheless.

Agreed. Kane goes in with his eyes 100% on the ball. He's there to try and stop it from going out. Delph might not have meant to hurt him but Delph went in 100% aiming to take Harry down.

The disrespect shown towards the bloody England captain.

The other thing I really hate is people saying that this is a good thing because we are better without Kane. It's such a stupid and simplistic way of looking at things. Kane does a fuck ton of good for the team, and that's a big understatement. The fact that our recent record is poor since he came back is down to a many different factors, and most of them have little to do with Kane himself or his contribution. If anything is to blame, it's the fact that our system with Kane as the focal point has perhaps become too predictable and easy for the opposition to deal with, which is a failing of the manager. But even that is probably more complicated than what us fans might think. The bottom line is that we are not as a rule better off without Kane. Only the most reactionary, short sighted and narrow minded of fans think that way.

fuck me, this looks bad
