Ex-Spurs Player Harry Kane

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I'm of the opinion that the prices for players is obscene. It has been inflated mainly by agents and owners to a lesser extent.
We really need a level playing field or we're going to see the usual suspects winning everything.
In short, I feel that a salary cap is really badly needed.
I feel that 150mil+ could be put to a much better cause. If there we're a cap, we would see the end of the era the of billionaire/oil/despot etc.
Top level insight there chap. Well played.

Crawled out of the woodwork. I'd almost (almost) rather have sammyspurs: at least he contributes and sometimes makes good comments.
This Teresa Teresa is the worst of all types of posters. Rarely contributes then HAS to say something controversial to get noticed.
All gone quiet, think he/ she crawled back under they're rock, or comfortable bkanket or the ritindin has kicked in. Trolls beware there are bigger nastier fuckers on here than you could imagine.

Shhh we aren’t allowed to mention that. He was happy to sign on to a £200,000 a week (that’s £10.4 million a year before bonuses) contract for 6 years that makes sure his kids or grandkids never have to work a day in their lives. The club is doin him a favour. Not the other way round.

I’ll also say. People moan about levy and ENIC but fuck me. Look at these cunts taking tens of millions of pounds home a year while we all struggle to hold on to our jobs and feed our families through a pandemic and the minute it gets a bit tough for them they want to fuck off and join a club to make it easier for them to win a trophy. It’s fucking obscene.

I’d be gutted if Harry went , (well more than gutted)but I’ve supported this club for over 45 years and seen great players come and go , my worry is the fact we have so much dead wood to get rid of and need a lot of investment in the squad to improve our league position, with or without Harry’s money it not gonna happen and that’s what worries me , please levy prove me wrong .

Choosing not to spend your money on the club I don't think turns you from a fan into a part timer, there are a number of perfectly reasonable reasons for that. It's the emotional investment I refer to, that's just not something you can switch off, it's not a choice, and if you can simply decide not to care, then you weren't much of a fan in the first place.

I imagine in reality you will stop spending money on the club but still follow intently every Saturday at 3pm (HA!).
Bewildered and frustrated. I fucking hate ENIC

I've told YouTube not to recommend their content to me anymore. Sick of them and their 90s throwback pundits.
Fuck me man I feel your pain , On my YouTube feed I had a link to the scum on the right side of the page and I accidentally brushed my hand over it or something and it popped up to play , I couldn't click off it it quick enough , But obviously not quick enough for scum links to pop up like a video I would be interested in , Took days for them to stop .
Sorry for the rant man , I feel your pain probably in a few ways right now . COYS .

I'm a massive Harry Kane fan, he's an amazing player who's been brilliant for us but no way am I gonna lose sleep if he does leave. The club is bigger than one player.

For everyone that says "he needs to leave to win trophies", this is a player who has played in three cup finals for us and numerous Semi-Finals etc and not performed or has been half injured. You cannot blame the club as it's a collective effort from everyone players, management and board. It's not like he hasn't had opportunities to win the league or cup competitions. He's been a part of the best Tottenham teams and collectively they haven't won anything. They've had plenty of opportunities.

For me Kane leaving is the easy option out, he could easily stay at Tottenham and be a legend for what he has done for the club but to leave and go and join a club like City that is funded by an oil state I think goes against what I thought Harry Kane was about.

He signed a six year contract, he was part of the team that got Poch sacked, he by all accounts was a massive fan of Mourinho and it didn't work out.

Like I say, he's an amazing player but I'm not gonna get the violin out.

Having said all of this, I still think he will be here next season.

Well said! There is no player more important than club.

So you have never left a job for greater responsibility (promotion) higher pay or because you became disenchanted with the leadership of your company?
You must still work in your first job.

It isn't about pointing fingers at Kane, he has been at the club way longer than the average footballer does.

Sad to see people now leaping onto the Sammy bandwagon and shitting the guy.

This stupid accusation that Kane goes missing in finals, I seem to remember they were against 3 clubs with superb defenders, and financially doped in terms of spending power, for the purchase of great players.
You don't generally get to play against clubs that can't defend in finals, because that's how they got there, by winning. Kane is an obvious threat, so he is heavily marked and clubs will take special measures to restrict his opportunities, only lately with Son have we had a player who can capitalise on the space left by the additional attention he gets.

I'm going to be gutted to see him go, I would have loved to see him here for another 5 seasons, becoming a club legend, which he pretty much has, even at this stage of his career.

I'm glad I was around to see him play for the club I have supported all my life.

Please don't let it be Chelsea.
You've conflated every wet blanket's comments into this response to my post, why? That's not what I've said at all.

1. Players leave football clubs all of the time, I've no problem with this.
2. Players, these days, hold all the cards even when the contract favours the Club, I've no problem with this.
3. It is Kane that wants to leave. Fact. I'm OK with this because I accept players leave football clubs, it's no skin off my nose if he stays or if he leaves. I support Tottenham Hotspur, not Kane.
4. Kane is a wonderful player, one of the best players in his position in the world but this doesn't change the fact that it is Kane that wants to leave, it's his call, he's calling these shots right now.
(5. BTW Do I think he'll leave? No.)
(6. Might that present a problem next season? Yes. The type of manager I want us to bring in would be the type of manager that would have a major problem with a player not wanting to be at the Club he plays for, I want a manager that believes in EVERY player pulling in the same direction and for each other and has no time for players who are no onboard ready to fight for the cause. I've put this point in brackets because it's an unknown and speculation on Kane's state of mind if he doesn't get is move and/or we don't have a manager).
7. My comments were aimed at those who point fingers and look to blame someone, I'm NOT one of those. If you care to reread what I wrote I was saying to those looking to point the finger than they should do so at the person that wants to leave, they booed Walker, so I assume they'll boo Kane too, it's just they aren't and are looking to blame someone else, which I find totally bizarre and inconsistent.
8. I'm not booing Kane (just as I didn't boo Bale or Walker or Modric), he can go, he can stay, I don't really give too much of a shit.
