Different situation in my view. Firstly Romero has returned to training, he’s not refused to train or not turned up. Secondly Spurs have made an offer and entered negotiation with the selling club. As far as I’m aware there have not been any formal offers or negotiations for Kane so him going on strike or not turning up is just silly.
Do you really believe Kane and his agent have not sounded out the market before taking this action (of not turning up for training)...?
Do you believe that Kane's refusing to turn up for training while he's hoping a club, out of nowhere, will turn up and pay what he and Spurs would demand?
The Kane's knows that there are clubs ready to pay up for him.
Again, I am NOT saying his actions are right.

it will take multiple intravenous doses of Valium to achieve calm on the Harry Kane issue here as nobody it seems is respecting the right of the individual to choose his own career path. His mind is made up- he wants to leave so if he stays because he is priced out of the market what sort of HK will be playing for Spurs this season but a highly paid employee that doesn’t want to be here- not good at all !
Do you not think that signing a 6 year contract was a choice he made on his own career path though?

He could have not signed it and been totally free to do as he pleased, he could have insisted on a shorter term and boohoo, he might have had to compromise on the wages, he could have insisted on some tangible form of release fee or clause.

He didn't do any of that, maybe in part because he has his cunt brother acting as his agent rather than a proper agent. Also his choice.

Arcspace posted a guardian article further up the thread

Andrea Traverso, Uefa’s director of research and financial stability:

“Those that are saying that the rules will be abandoned or relaxed are just speculating,” Traverso said. “Rules can be different, sure, but this does not necessarily mean that the rules will be less stringent. On the contrary, when severe situations occur often those necessitate stronger measures.”

I blame Kane for this
I will get McDonalds as well! We are in this together!

:dierpochhug:

He can fuck off. I'm genuinely hurt. More than Bale. Just take as much as we can and rebuild everything, from the defence to the attack. I'm sick and tired of this saga, I'm sick and tired of his prick of a brother, and I'm getting sick and tired of him. The more you love a player, the more hurt you are when he leaves, especially in this manner. I'm genuinely curious about the reaction he would get at The Lane though as a City player. If he didn't do this, it would probably appreciation, but after this, I'm guessing it's going to be close to Judas level of toxicity (not quite though).

So what your basically saying is sporting contracts are meaningless because he wants to leave and we should sell him for less than his value or we are oppressing his human rights or something? the poor lamb on his £200k a week.

Single tear for Harry Kane and his career.

or am I misquoting you?
Sadly contracts really do mean bugger all in football.

It's not the same at all. We're excited that we're going to a good CB that is turning up to training etc.

We're a bit annoyed at Kane because he's reportedly not turned up for training because he's trying to force a move away.

Honestly I don't think there's any other rational way to react to it. I'm not going to be annoyed that Atalanta are losing a good player and I'm not going to be happy for City if he goes.

I think it's really unfair that you're essentially saying that us Spurs fans are hypocrites :klinsmann:
So you believe that all the Atalanta fans are happy they're losing their best defender and best player last season because it makes you and the Spurs fans happy?
Romero has let the press know that he wants to leave.
I am NOT saying Kane is doing the right thing but the bottom line is the Spurs fans are unhappy that Kane is forcing a move away from Spurs while they're happy Romero is "forcing" a move away from his club to join Spurs

And your inability to see the comparison makes you even dumber. Really dumb and stupid.
Why should Romero refuse to train when his club has been negotiating his sale for around 3 weeks at least...???
In other words, unlike Spurs, his club, Atalanta is NOT refusing to sell him - rather they are actively wanting to sell him.
So why should Romero throw a fit then?
I never said it was the right thing to do for Kane. But we do NOT know what kind of agreement Kane had with Levy & Lewis.
:mourwhat:

You were the one drawing comparisons that don't exist between the Kane and Romero situations.

Spurs and Atalanta are close on a deal the valuations aren't that far apart. Romero turned up for training like a professional.

City and Spurs are light years apart on a deal and Kane is acting like a little bitch, disrespecting the fans, the manager, and his fellow professionals.

Hence why we are kicking off.

Don't get your point and it seems people are in agreement with me.

Signing a 6 year contract means that now with 3 years left we can get over 120-140 mill for him. Had he signed a 4 year deal back then we would be looking at 40-50 mill with only 1 year left after this summer. That 6 year contract benefited both parties.

No.... You don't.

All you know is Kane hasn't shown up this morning.

I don't expect that Charlie Kane is a particularly savvy guy. So first, it wouldn't surprise me if their moves here are about as blunt as Harry's captain speeches before games (as seen on Amazon) when he stepped in as captain for Hugo.

And so it wouldn't surprise me, given that awful interview Harry did, if they believed $100m was enough to get it done, given their "gentlemen's agreement."

Any footballer's contract generally benefits both parties, or they wouldn't get signed, us having benefited from it doesn't mean we have to bend over backwards to allow him to leave though.

I don’t blame Harry being annoyed with the lack of ambition because we all are, but this and the Neville interview is a stab in the back to the Spurs supporters for me. Fuck Levy, I couldn’t give a toss about that bald cunts feelings, but it’s the supporters that are going to feel betrayed and hurt by this. Like I said before, he was clearly tapped up by City last season. That Neville interview was concrete proof of that, name checking De Bruyne and quoting 100 mil transfer prices. Harry Kane was 100% tapped up. It’s now down to City to put up or shut up. If you desperately want him, you cough up the 160 mil he is worth. If not, shut the fuck up Harry and get your nut down for the new season
