If it happens it is going to open up a whole other can of worms for football transfers.
Even America needs its beauty sleep
We don't know the truth, yet. Like I said, this is just the way that I read it.
Sure, by letter of the rules, City and Kane weren't in a position to make one... but you can't fathom that a club makes a deal and then afterwards talks to the player in this day and age? Particularly a large deal involving a player of Kane's (or Grealish's) stature.
It already is.
This is disruptive, snide and underhand.
It is utterly shocking at every level and worse is that this guy is the England captain.
Make no mistake, this is disgraceful.
Didn’t Rooney have a history of handing in transfer requests and then signing massive contracts? (Didn’t go on strike, tho, IIRC)
Just goes to show what a horrible move this was by Kane. The dressing room is clearly turning on him. As Redknapp said, Levy won't sell Kane until the figure he thinks is right has been reached. He will probably have to come back at some point.
Essentially the courts would set the transfer fee. If it went ahead, I’d happily stand under oath and say I would have definitely bought Elite shirts with the Kane on it for all my nieces and nephews, but decided not to based on Kane leaving. City can go and f—- themselves.I think you are reading it wrong.
Kane would in that scenario buy his way out of his contract and move to City on a "free" transfer. Where he is most likely compensated by City.
Spurs would then sue the fuck out both parties, claiming interference and inducement. He wouldn't do something to make City make a bid for him.
It's a load of horseshit. Football players get sympathy for it, any other business you'd be laughed at as a fool. If you wanna get paid the big bucks then you better have your shit sorted.I normally avoid anything with Jamie O'Hara on as he is usually anti spurs. But on my lunch break and a work mate was listing to to an interview. He said in it pretty much would you did. Gentleman's agreements don't really exist in football and commented on the amount of time she had been let down on a deal that was struck over a handshake. Said that it should have been written down and signed by both parties. Even old pros are dismissing it as a real reason.
Oh fuck off Charlie. We know it’s you. This place is full of fighty people. You're going to get hit with a wave of aggressive responses.
In no way shape or form is this anywhere near the snidery of Campbell. We got nothing for him. He went to Woolwich. He sat on his contract on purpose to allow him to stab us in the back. He then did it to Woolwich as well.
Yep. And Ronaldo. Gets bigger deals, everyone forgets a few weeks later.
Or it just goes to show Dier likes Basketball and other sporting greats.
No reason this wouldn't happen and if it did it opens a whole new world of potential transfers around the world.
This Kane saga might end up benefiting us one day. It may make players affordable again
...fuck offNot yet. Thought it polite to check for honest replies to my post. Not here to show disrespect to your club or any of its supporters.
Or shooting burgersOr are busy eating burgers and shooting things
just kidding American bros
My respect for him went as soon as "that interview" surfaced.Exactly.This isnt just about getting a move, its about getting a move below his market value becasue his new club dont want o pay what he's worth.
Its a slag of thing to do to any club, let alone one he claims to love so much.
As each hour goes by,i have less and less respect for him.
Inuit? Sioux, Arapahoe? Last of the Mohicans?
Hold it, you mean Spurs like when he wanted to go to ManU after 2 'promising' seasons with us? We don't need to split on players if we just expect and accept that most every player will do what is in their best interests when given a choice. And that those interests from time to time may not be aligned with ours as fans. Dier jsut happens to be lucky enough to not have anyone interested in him...including most on this board.
More fool city for trusting levys word. Until it’s signed & written down then take his words with a pinch of salt.MCFC Supporter here in peace.
Stating the obvious: we are hoping for different outcomes in this transfer saga and our perspectives from our differing vantage points will cause us to see this series of events (and non-events) in very contrasting ways.
But I have my own theory of how this has played out (and still is) and wonder if you might grant that it is at least possible or even plausible at this point?
So in March, MCFC announce that their time with Aguero will be coming to an end when his contract wound down this summer. Many people had presumed that this would be the case, but it seemed a bizarre and risky thing to go trumpeting to the football world.
Then word gets out through Aguero, the Chairman and others that City would be replacing him in the summer. Surely a club as ruthlessly efficient in business and transfers wouldn't telegraph a weakness like that to clubs that they'd be seeking to purchase from?
Also, this would be the sort of very large value transfer that would have a lot of moving parts and loose ends to sew up. Doesn't seem the sort of thing to just get thrown together late in the window before the deadline.
Then amongst all of the speculation and chatter, City and Kane never squash the rumors.
Then City loan out Delap and sell Nmecha.
Think whatever you will of City, but they aren't complete fools who'd do that without thinking that they have a deal made.
I think that the deal was made. Pre-Aguero announcement. They knew that they had a player who'd be receptive. City always approach the player first. They knew what the number was going to be to purchase him too and they were okay with it. Kane knew too and the extended-holidays were always part of the plan as soon as the schedule was released. THFC won't be fining him. His sitting out was always going to happen and it allows all parties to not have an acrimonious day on the 15th.
Perhaps I'm wrong and your owner issues a flat rejection statement. Perhaps Kane apologizes, comes grovelling back kissing the badge all the way.
We'll know for sure soon.

Forgetting someone?
