Ex-Spurs Player Harry Kane

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

But my point was that every top striker scores most of their goals against lesser/worse clubs. You've not said anything that has disproven that.

If Kane played for a side as good as Bayern he would have plenty more goals against the top sides in the Champions League.
Tyler, I'm beginning to question your intelligence. Seriously.

There are 4 elite teams in the PL and 16 non-elite teams.

Every player is going to have a higher goal total against the 16 non-elite teams, than the 4 other ones.

The question is, does Kane score at a decent rate against good/elite squads.

Over the last 3.5 seasons, the answer is NO. And his own teammate that isn't widely considered world class has absolutely owned him.

This exact same debate using the exact same examples happened like 3 pages ago.

You really have to stop comparing Kane to Lewandowski. Just stop.

Kane needs to match or even get a sniff of Son in games against good teams before you start comparing him to the world class stars like Lewandowski, Salah, Messi, Ronaldo etc.

It's debatable as to whether he's even the best attacker on his team over the last 3 seasons.

Not sure I get the point you are making if you banned repetition from this site it would be six pages long.

There's repetition and then there's literally the exact same point being made every 3 pages about Kane not being good in big games/Lewandowski being better at it.

It's not even being triggered by Kane playing badly in a big game. There's no new material or angle here, nothing has changed, so the arguments can't change.

To further my point above, lets leave Lewandowski out of it and call him an outlier. For the sake of discussion, lets just keep it to just Spurs players and what they've done since the beginning of the last season against a big 4 PL side:

Open play goals against the Big 4 since 18/19 season:
  • Kane = 4 goals
  • Son = 11 goals
*Big 4 = Liverpool, Chelsea, Utd, City

Argue that Kane hasn't been playing for a good team all you want. But his own teammates has owned him when it comes to scoring against the elite PL sides. 4 goals against the Big 4 over the last 3.5 years is not good at all.
Is there a reason you are picking the last 3.5 years? My guess is it is the exact sample data that aligns with your argument.

Also, are your open play goals non-PK goals? Does Son's free kick vs Man City count this year? Do headers from corners count as they are generally not open play goals?

If you've ever been following this thread, sammyspurs sammyspurs and I have argued that Kane has not been the same player since the 18/19 season...

Prior to that, he was great, no doubt.

The argument has always been SINCE 18/19 as he hasn't been the same player.

He overtake Rooney on away goals so Rooney’s 10 major trophies are almost worthless

Quite funny that it annoys you the repetition that Kane isn’t as good as Lewandoski but you don’t seem as bothered by the 150 posts that claim he is

That is quite enlightening. Do you have the numbers for Goals+assists in these. Many times the assist is better than the goal (eg Ndombele, Lucas and Kane's work was obviously more difficult than Son putting the ball in the empty goal for the 3rd) .

I'm not even actually annoyed, I just found it amusing the same discussion was happening again. And I was referring to both sides discussing whether Kane is good vs big teams, not picking out either side for criticism.

You guys go ahead, I just don't get how you aren't bored by it yet. We've had kane doesn't score in big games/yeah but nor do other strikers look at lewa/yeah they do/yeah but they play for better sides stuff like four times now.
