Ex-Spurs Player Harvey White

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

He did not look out of place at all, did he?!?
And it amazed me when I checked that he is just 168 cm... that is 7 cm shorter than Gil but it is visible White was brought up in English game. Did not seem too soft or lightweight at all.

I really-really hope we can see more of him.

Great for him to get some minutes. He must really have impressed Conte during the World Cup. Said a lot about him that he was allowed to take the corners as he’s always been good at set pieces but still to come on in a pl game says a lot.

I wouldn’t be surprised if we see him off the bench v Pompey if we are in a position to bring him on.

I think he'll get his chance tomorrow.... maybe instead of Gil???

Be good to see a strong line up, with maybe 2 or 3 younger players sprinkled around...
Sarr/Spence/White perhaps?

Another youngster bombed out by conte who has no faith or inclination to develop young players. Every team it seems gives chances to 17/18/19/20 year olds except is. Really is a worrying sign what this manager and DOF are doing to spurs history. Ok we never win anything but at least we developed good young players or purchased players with that bit of magic. If he doesn’t win anything can anyone say it’s been worth it? We will be back to starting all over again and these young players would have no experience of playing for spurs.

For those who don't follow the youth Harvey is very good at set pieces.
He's 21 next year so this is his opportunity and let's hope he does well.

Thought he was good enough to be given a few sessions from the bench at least, but there again, we haven't been great at that recently, so maybe it's best that he gets a loan deal to get some game time.

He really couldn't get a better loan than League One?

Due to successive managers being happy to keep him in the first team squad but not playing him, White's only played about a dozen mens games of football.

So in terms of experience going to a Championship club (which I think he would have coped with that level very well) is risky in terms of getting game time.

So to that extent League 1 he should be guaranteed more game time. I just hope whoever is our manager next season doesn't decide League 1 is too low level to count (just as Conte decided that Spence 100+ games at Championship are not good experience).

So in short White going to a League 1 club loan is solely down to Spurs managers, including Conte, not playing him or allowing him out on loan to develop. Its a massive failing now becoming an issue with our lack of Club Trained and Association Trained players (the last category we can buy, as we did Sessegnon, but quality is not great usually for a very high price)

Like I said on the transfer thread.....he was pushing for PL minutes by being on the bench a few times. IMO he was anyway. To drop down to level 3 from that is disappointing. He offered something we didn't have by being a creative MF with set pieces being a strength. He was too good for the U 21s. He needed top players around him to benefit from his delivery.
I hope he rips league one up and takes it by storm.

Apparently 2 Championship teams were interested in Harvey on loan, Luton and WBA.

Several others too, including Blackpool. PL Notts Forest also showed an interest too ....... but with a few of these clubs they might have been looking for options to buy which was not available.

If Derby do mount a challenge to get back into Championship it would be good for Harvey to be involved in those sort of pressure games.
