0-0. Salford win on pens.
How fecking annoying.
Salford were/are a 2 bob outfit and their fecking manager is sneering at a Wembley final.

Big win for Pompey today as they have been losing a few recently. They are back in the play off slots.
They trusted Harvey to come on 70 mins while holding on to a narrow 1 goal lead.

Just watched a few minutes of his sub app today. Pompey needed to win to get to the play offs but lost 1-0.
TBH the players seemed a bit reluctant to pass to him and he did not look physically strong.
One weak cross into the box but otherwise safety first passing. Was playing deeper in midfield than I was expecting as Daniels was on the left wing.

If they don't go up. Sure.

But he is barely getting minutes for them it seems so going back to Pompey next season if they go up doesn't sound that smart.
They're not in the playoffs, missed out by a few points. I think it's a good spot for him tbh, if they want him back it shows an intention to use him. He's only been there since January and has played a part in 21 games, with 45mins+ in 7 of those. With a pre-season behind him and physical conditioning over the summer you'd expect him to kick on and start more.

Trained with first team today along with Clarke and Markanday. Didn't play but was on the bench for 1-0 loss against Vitesse when Nuno only used 1 of his 5 subs. Also on the bench and didn't play for the 5-1 win against Mura.
Will be interesting to see if he gets minutes or a start in the last 2 conference league games and if not maybe a loan out in January. We've had a few centre midfielders break through over the last few years but not many technical players like White who is very good on freekicks and corners

Really should have been loaned out in the summer, but will probably go out in January and hopefully a full season loan next year. I don't quite think he'll be good enough to play for us in the PL, but who knows? .. he's definitely a talented player who should make a career for himself.

Thing is, this is a sliding doors moment, for the squad and youth.

They'll all be aware that Conte will want certain characteristics, so whoever is fit and ready might get flung into the first team, like Mason (who'd never really got close before).

Would be really cool if Conte took to one of the youth, like Jose with Tanganga (though the doc made it seem a little staged and contrived), or Poch with Mason and Bentaleb (Mason not youth, more never broken through reserve, at that stage).

Dont think there's any of them ready for it at the moment. Scarlett years away, Devine just turned 17, John looks good but needs a loan, same for Markanday. Don't think any of the academy defenders have looked consistently good, or remotely physical enough for high level men's football. Paskotsi looks decent but poorish on the ball.

Have a funny feeling we could see Clarke play at RWB.

Think he's been really unlucky this season :

Played in first 3 pre-season friendlies (v Ipswich, Reading and Birmingham) in 20/21 under Mourhino and did well, made an EL appearance and played 90 mins in an FA cup (against Marine but no other youngsters started and completed the match) plus made 21 appearances in League 1 mostly from bench) aged 19. Not to mention doing well in first preseason aged 17 as both LB and CM under Poch.

This season played in u21's in pre-season, plus played vey well scoring goals and assisting in PL2 for u21's but despite a few bench appearances in europe has made no appearances in first team this season.

Of the u21 candidates this season, he's probably the player with the best combination of physical development, experience and technical ability to make an impression on first team - the lesser matches of course.

With Skipp and Hojbjerg being the only players seemingly certain of starting as first team CM's - Ndombele seemingly rarely completing 90 minutes at a high level of creative football, and probably Lo Celso, Dele and Winks being even less rated, White should have probably had a few opportunities this season to show what he can do given the lack of quality seen in CM.

Would really like him to get minutes v Mura in ECL.

And realistically a decent loan in January if Conte is not going to use him in the 2nd half of the season - after all he has a contract until 2024, so has been highly rated at club.
