Sanchez is a danger on set pieces in attack and has scored this season. He is also quick and can get back to defend if advanced up the pitch.
We had Porro and Son who are both set piece specialists who could have planted one on Sanchez's head.
Sanchez replaced Kulu who had his chance and failed, he would have been tired also.

It was a gamble that didn't pay off .

Yeah it's a fair point. We score a lot of goals from set pieces - even if he doesn't score he's more likely to get a flick on or something. But that's depressing in itself.. the fact our game is based around scoring from set pieces.
