Management Have We Appointed Arne Slot Yet?

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Tbh, after years of this media shite, I don't believe a word of any of it until the player's/manager's holding up a shirt on the balcony at the club.

Will a travelcard to?

The clause for Slot to leave the club start in the summer of 2024. Right now Feyenoord could say no to any club that wants Slot.
10 mil for Slot and the money the Spurs can spend is not that much, bur consider that Nagelsmann costed 25 mil and below that coaches only got bought for around 10 mil, makes the 10 mil for Slot not that unreasonable.

Staying one more year with Feyenoord is the best he could do, knowing that the team will stay the same on most positions and reaching top 2 in Eredivisie will get you to group stage champions league. Even 3rd place will get you qualification.
Knowing that PSV and Ajax are having bad seasons.
So he has no reason to leave.
Clubs as Spurs will stay interested for Slot even after next year.

Slot has children studying in the Netherlands and he likes Feyenoord at the moment.
Enough reasons for him not to go.

Also Tottenham saying that they feel mislead by the fact that Slot used them for a better contract by Feyenoord is weird.
Because he says no, he used Spurs? Its a matter of negotiations and he played it very smart.
But he said never to be approached, so I dont get why they would say something like that.

Anyway, we are very happy that he stays for one more year at least and thank you for the laughs a couple of years ago when Moura kicked Ajax out of the champions league final :)

It’s genuinely scary how similar this is all feeling to 2021 though. The feeling of deja vu is unbelievable.

Supposed first choices seeming getting closer to completion then bang, the inevitable “Manager X to Tottenham is OFF” reports come flooding in, with varying reported reasons/excuses as to how we messed it up.

You know well this is going to go 2 very similar ways to how 2021 went as well.

1. We’ll run out of candidates and resort to appointing our 6/7th choice (Ange, Rodgers, Potter) in the Nuno mould who will inevitably get sacked before Christmas.

2. We’ll panic and go grovelling back to Nagelsmann the same way we did with Conte, give him a load of false promises etc and then be saddled with a disgruntled manager who thinks he’s too big for us.

There’s a good chance that a La Paratici’s appointment in 2021 too, we’ll bring in a new DOF in the next few weeks who will tear up our current list and have a whole new strategy to bring in a manager he wants.

It’s just pathetic how predictable the whole thing is becoming. There have been absolutely no lessons learned it would appear and we really are adrift with no direction.

We need new owners, so so badly.

We're a club desperate for a manager and more importantly; a winning one who plays attacking football and yet we are willing to let a manager go because we would have to pay £15m?

Doesn't this just summarise exactly what is wrong with our chairman?

Seems crazy we couldn't come to an agreement even if Feyenoord wanted 20m. We spent 10m on Jack Clarke ffs

It’s insanity isn’t it? Levy will buy random players for £10m like Njie, Nkoudou and Clarke yet he won’t pay half that to sign a good manager. He’s also happy to give mega £15m salaries to managers like Mourinho and Conte but only if they were free agents. He has no idea what the fuck he is doing.

Can't justify paying £15m for a manager from the Dutch League no matter how many pretty patterns he plays, absolutely mental that his compo is that especially since Ten Hag's compo was £2.5m for reference.

The issue isn't the money, it's fact that we let it get to this stage without discussing the compo, by all accounts we've been interested in Slot since March and the first link was when Conte was sacked, 2 months.

The spin has already started from out club as well "Spurs feel Slot used talks to get a better deal at his current club"

Absolute bollocks, he just won them the title ffs.
I think they're probably right. It's what I would have done, wouldn't you?

He's so loyal to his current club that he wants to screw them for every Euro he possibly can. That's loyalty.
