Can't justify paying £15m for a manager from the Dutch League no matter how many pretty patterns he plays, absolutely mental that his compo is that especially since Ten Hag's compo was £2.5m for reference.

The issue isn't the money, it's fact that we let it get to this stage without discussing the compo, by all accounts we've been interested in Slot since March and the first link was when Conte was sacked, 2 months.
I do agree with you that it'a a ridiculously steep price and under normal circumstances I would also say that it's way too much to pay for a manager.

The issue is, we are coming from a place of desperation as a club and he's just won them a league title, the first in what? 15 years was it? They have all the bargaining chips and we have none.

But yes mate, you're correct that the more important issue rather than the money is that we allowed it to get to this point without discussing the comp, it just seems unprofessional and yet again, from the outside at least, we seem like we have no idea what we actually want, like there is no real direction.

60 days since Conte got the sack and it took us 76 days to appoint Nuno.

It's just a bit ridiculous at this point, I am ok with them taking their time to get the right appointment but things like this just give me no confidence.

It wouldn’t have been £15 million if he wanted to come to us.

That’s a daft figure that’s being chucked around as it was never a serious consideration.

How much was it then?

The figure banded about was for him and his backroom staff, even if it wasn't £15m, even £5m was more than enough seeing as ETH was half of that, it's the fokin Eredivisie, not even top 5 best league in Europe.

We're desperate but we need to at least set some standards.

Feyenoord usually gets 3rd and sometimes 2nd. The bad years were like 15 years ago.
Last title was in 2017.
Not only the title, also the way he played football and the European successes got him popular.

There was no figure, because he was never interested. It’s all bullshit.

If he had wanted to join us, there would have been a negotiation, realistically based around the value of his contract.

The thing with Rodgers is that I can't see him managing a good rebuild, he'd stick with more or less the same players.
Mason is more suited to a rebuild because he is committed to our long-term future. Tottenham Hotspur isn't just something he's messing around with. He's one of our own and that's something that money can't buy.

I'm not convinced that any of the "names" on the table have the belly for a complete rebuild. That's something that takes time and dedication and I don't see any of that coming from a paycheque manager with no attachment to the club.

Are you advocating that we hire Mason as the permanent manager?
