Management Have We Appointed Arne Slot Yet?

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Counterpoint: We don't actually need a huge purge this summer.

Out/contracts expiring/No loan-to-purchase deal: Lucas, Kulusevski, Lenglet, Danjuma

Sell/Release/Loan-out: Lloris, Dier, Højbjerg, Winks, Forster (or Austin, or Whiteman, Sanchez, Tanganga

Returning/Loans-out ending: Ndombele, Lo Celso, Bryan Gil, Udogie, Spence, Rodon, Reguilón.

We should definitely have a good look at Bryan Gil, Udogie, and Spence this preseason, and I maintain that a good manager/coach can get a tune out of Ndombele as a rotational option.

Rodon should be easy to off-load as should Reguilón and Lo Celso.

OUTS/LOAN OUTS:
Lloris, Dier, Højbjerg, Winks, Sanchez, Rodon, Perisic, Tanganga, Austin/Whiteman, Reguilón, Lo Celso

IMO, our priority list should be:

1. new starting GK (£60-£70M)
2. new LCB. (left-footed) (one CB a blue-chip option £60-£70M, the other could be a punt/speculative)
3. new CB (one CB a blue-chip option £60-£70M, the other could be a punt/speculative)
3. new CM (£50-£75M)
4. new FW/winger (with pace!!!)

GKs: x, x, Austin
CBs: Romero, x, x, Royal, Davies, x
LB/LWB: Udogie, Sessegnon, Davies, Perisic
RB/RWB: Royal, Porro, Spence
CM: x, Bissouma, Ndombele, Bentancur, Skipp, Sarr
LW/RW: Son, Richarlison, Bryan Gil, Porro, Udogie, Perisic
FW: Kane, Richarlison, Son

Kane, Son, Romero, Richarlison, Porro, Bissouma, Bentancur, Perisic, Royal, Bryan Gil, Udogie, Ndombele, Davies, Sessegnon, Skipp, Sarr, Austin, Spence

Edit: Could probably be convinced to keep Kulusevski depending on mood/data.

Just a simple £300m splash out lol

Won't happen.

ok, but keep Kulu. He should go back to his early success if Benta and Biss are in the midfield.

Kompany in that group is stupid.
Same sort of football.

There's formational questions, are wingbacks your widest front line players? 2 CBs or 3? A single number 9 focal point or not?

There's also philosophical questions, how important is maintaining possession? How direct do you want to be in attack?

And that gets down into nitty-gritty tactical stuff that inevitably becomes a bit opponent-specific.

But in the overarching sense Slot, De Zerbi, Postecoglu and Kompany are all kind of a Pep-derivative coaching family.

Then there's a Klopp or perhaps more accurately Rangnick-derivative coaching family, with Bielsa/Poch ball being pretty closely related. A lot of 3-4-3 being played by that group.

The latter is a better fit for the Spurs squad. More work is needed to get us playing the former.

Baby Slot doo doo do-do do-do Baby Slot doo doo do-do do-do Baby Slot

Get ready for another one...

His name was Arne, he was a trainer
No yellow feathers in his hair cause there ain't that much up there
He played free-flowing and pleasing football
And while he tried to be a star
Danny always tended bar
Across from White Hart Lane, they worked with Harry Kane
They were young and they had each other
It was quite insane
At the Slota, Slotacabana
The hottest spot north of Havana (here)
At the Slota, Slotacabana
Football and fashion were always the passion
At the Slota, the fell in love
