Management Have We Appointed Arne Slot Yet?

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Good luck if you really think he has the clout to remove Kane from the team.
Kane is too good a player to not try to fit into your system and I am pretty sure he will tweak it to accommodate him. But, at the end of the day, he's the manager. He can remove anyone he wants. And if he is getting results without Kane, then no one would bat am eyelid. Let's not forget that he lost his top 4 goal scorers from the previous season and, in spite of that, this year's team has scored more goals.

If Kane isn't getting any game time I am telling you now Slot won't have any power in that situation, we just need to accept player power and Kane is the player the club will do anything for.

If Kane complains then the club won't ignore it.
Even if Slot has us firing on all cylinders without him? I doubt it. If anything, it would allow the club to sell Kane in January, knowing that we can do well without him, and at least get some fee for him.

To be honest, that's a scenario I wouldn't be unhappy about. It would be great to know that, even if we lose Kane, it won't impact us. It's the one thing everyone is dreading and having a manager that can bridge the gap would be great.

And the reverse hypothetical scenario to that would be that he'd go the rest of the season 2-3-14 scoring 10 goals in the process and everyone wondering why we sold our elite striker, that's assuming that Kane would want to leave in January anyway :p

All of these hyopthetical scenarios are pretty unrealistic either way, we know that Slot isn't going to drop Kane no matter if he isn't the best presser or not which is completely overstated anyway, good managers find a way to get the best out of good players and if he's dropping a player like Kane who is arguably the best striker in the world then you'd have to question what kind of manager he is.

Feels like a similar situation to Poch's arrival tbh. We had a gifted but disorganised defense that noone would have predicted to be the tightest in the league a year or so later.

Toby came in and immediately improved Vertonghen by covering Jan's attacking instincts. The shift to high pressing suited the likes of Walker and Rose who were more comfortable in the middle of the pitch, and Dier was played in a holding role that fell into a back 3 when the fullbacks moved into attack. I think (from memory) that was how Poch managed an attacking press.

We had to suffer Fazio and Stambouli though first. I'd quite like to omit their equivalent this time!
